Business relationship

2002-05-06 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Desmond Tede
First Bank of Nigeria Plc.
Headquarters,
Lagos, Nigeria.

For the attention of: The managing director/C.E.O

Compliment of the day and how is life generally with you? Of course it is my humble
wish to solicit and crave your indulgence to make this project request for a joint
business transaction which I hope will not come to you as a surprise, hence I plead
for your pardon.

I am Tede, the manager in the headquarters of first bank of Nig. Plc. Lagos. I have an
urgent and confidential business proposal for you.

On June 6, 1997, an Australian oil consultant/contractor with via National Petroleum
cooperation (NNPC) Mr. Peter Bush made a numbered time (fixed) deposit for twelve
calendar months valued at US$18,000.00(Eighteen Million US Dollars) in my branch.

On maturity, I sent a routine notification to his forwarded address but got no reply
after months we send a reminder and finally we discovered from his contract employee
(Nigeria national petroleum Corporation) that Mr. peter Bush died from an
Automobile accident. On further investigation, it was clear that he died without
making a will. All attempts by the Australian to trace his next of kin were fruitless.

I therefore made further investigation and discovered that Mr. Peter Bush did not
declare any next of kin or relations in all his official documents including his
deposit document in my bank. The total sum US$18,000,000.00 is still in my bank as
dormant account. No one will ever come forward to claim it. According to Nigerian
banking law, after five years, the money will revert to the ownership of the Nigerian
Government. If the account owner is certified death and nobody comes forward to claim
it.

This is the situation, and my proposal is that I am looking for a foreigner who will
stand in as the beneficiary/next of kin. This is simple. All you have to do is to
immediately send me the details of a bank account anywhere in the world, your address,
your telephone and fax numbers for me to arrange payment of the money in your favour
as the relation of late Peter Bush who died in an auto crash in Nigeria and the money
will then be paid to you legally for us to share in the ration of 60% for me 30% for
you while the remaining 10% will be set aside for expenses re-imbursement.

After the proper legal documentation for the payment of the money in your name, it
will be paid to you by a Security company either in Nigeria or in another country
outside Nigeria.

There is no risk involved. I am using my position as the bank manager and connection
in the bank here to arrange the payment in your favour as the relation of Late Mr.
Peter Bush. We shall employ the services of an attorney to obtain all necessary
documents and letter of administration in your favour for the payment. This
transaction is risk free guaranteed. If you are interested, please reply immediately
through my confidential email address or call me for discussion as you receive this
mail and be rest assured that this transaction could be most profitable for both of
us. Please do not expose this deal if you are not interested because if you do, it
will take me out of seat.

Please reply urgently through my confidential email address [EMAIL PROTECTED].

I am awaiting your urgent reply

Best regards
Desmond Tede

Mathematica's facilities with lyx...

2002-05-06 Thread geof

Hello,

I'm new on this mailing list but I'm using lyx for a long time now.
I have some questions about the lyx-server and how to use it.
My idea is to use the lyx-server to access the Mathematica's (from Wolfram)
equation manipulation facilities. For example, pasting equation from
Mathematica to lyx or using Mathematica commands like Simplify, Factor
directly on lyx formulas.
So, where can find the list with explanations of the lyx's commands. In fact,
for the first step, I'd like be able to pipe out formula selection.
Thank you

LYX 1.2.0pre5 BUGS

2002-05-06 Thread Peter Drummond

To Lyx developers -

LYX 1.2.0pre5 BUGS - most minor..

But thanks for the great effort - l think it will be a huge
improvement, especially when modern guis emerge for
public release. If this is nearly there, please ignore the
xforms related bugs..

1. Installation xforms

Problems with installation on RH7.2 - the xforms
I previously installed wasn't found, and it had to be
re-installed from the lyx site. This allows the
v1.2.0pre5 to be compiled. However, with the xforms
from the lyx site, the available rpm was not able
to be installed, as it also complained about xforms!!

2. Tiny fonts

This happens with modern high res (140dpi) screens -
xforms uses tiny fonts - makes the menus unreadable.
Basically, this appears to be intrinsic to xforms -
the problem never happens with QT based software,
so I would prefer to have a QT based version, where
the windowing software handles screen resolution.

3. Fixed menu fontsize

If you try to change the menu fontsize using the
preferences, this doesn't appear to work - in fact,
putting in the full font description as per the
manual always seems to give no labels in the font,
without an error-message. Usually the bold font
appears instead, provided that it wasn't changed.

4. Small menu spacing

If you try to use a font family that is intrinsically
larger than the standard helvetica - like bookman
on my system - the menu labels overlap. There seems
no way to space these further. You can change the
menu names as a kludge, but at the expense of clarity -
also this would be quite hard for a newbie to find!

5. Lyx crash in Preferences

If you use the bookman font and then click the
Preferences/Outputs tab, lyx will crash. This does
not happen with the helvetica font. I don't know why
this happens, but it is VERY reproducible - the first
symptom is the Outputs label is partly off the window,
and then when it is clicked the whole program crashes.

6. Broken cut/paste

As has been reported previously, the cut/paste operation
inside a math equation is broken if you do an insert tilde
or similar operation inbetween cutting and pasting. This is
also very reproducible, and is a new bug that wasn't present
on v1.1.6. It is also a commonly encountered situation,
as cut/paste is a time-saver with math equations.

7. Partial window resizing

Windowing still has a problem with partial resizing -
ie, after resizing the window the lyx page doesn't fill
the entire new window. Can be fixed as a kludge by just
changing desktops - then returning to the original desktop.
This may also be an xforms bug. Maybe another argument
in favor of QT or other modern GUI system instead of xforms.

8. Non-removable equation rows

Can no longer remove a row from a multiline equation
by highlighting and pressing delete. There is a way
to do this from the menu, but it takes much longer than
previously. Similarly, can no longer insert complete rows
by using the cut-paste buffer; blank new lines have to be
inserted separately first, which slows down the editing.

9. Math panel missing labels

On my math panel, the following labels are missing from
the second 4*3 matrix of labels starting with +/-:
(Row-column) = (1,2),(1,3),(2,1),(3,2),(3,3)
The panels under these are all present and correct, but
not all the symbols display as on the panel (like hbar).
Having the word for hbar is OK - but the symbol is nicer!

Apart from this - great improvements visible!!

yours, Peter Drummond.
