The wiki is a collaborative tool. If we hesitate to correct, edit and probably
also remove other peoples entires, the wiki ends up as an ecclectic piece of
text which helps nobody.

My favorite page is this:

http://wiki.lyx.org/FAQ/MultipleAuthors

This looks like a chat log. I mean, for someone looking for help, this site is
just irritating.

I see your point, but perhaps it helps make people more self reliant.
If I saw that, I would say never mind, I'll figure it out for myself. :-)

Something like Tips/MathMacros needs to be updated (since we now have
menu and toolbar control over macros), but I would think the existing
content could be kept after verifying that it still works, even if it is
arguably not the most efficient approach anymore.

Maybe. However, we should try to clean this up where possible. At least as far
as the FAQ is concerned, we should really try to get the thing usable.

I added some notes on how I think the FAQ should look like:
http://wiki.lyx.org/FAQ/FAQFAQ

Great job with that!

Cheers,
Paul

I have not noticed it in the latest release i tried (alpha5), but I did not
conduct extensive tests, especially with long documents. I will do so and
report back

 Comment:

Stefano, are you still able to reproduce this with recent revisions? The
spell checking interface has undergone some work, so this one might have
  been cured en passant.

Remember that the history of the pages is available to all (with some
extra clicks), so if you delete some obsolete info, it is not
completely lost and people insisting on using old versions can still
get the help by checking old versions of the wiki.
(Maybe we could make this clear in an intro page.)
