OK, this one installed successfully, the kpsewhich slowness is cured,
and LyX2.3 is the user's directory.

Yes, sorry. I'll have to fix that again.

Re: #11412: keep word spacing during typing

2018-12-14 Thread Jacob Hammer
Suppose you want to edit a sentence by adding a word in the middle of it. You
place the pointer at the end of the previous word, type space, then start
typing the new word. However, in contrast to all earlier versions of Lyx, the
space is not typed; instead, the pointer moves to the beginning of the next
existing word of the sentence. The new characters your type appear attached to
the following word.

This is different from earlier versions of Lyx (I have been using Lyx for more
than a decade).

Of course, you could type the space after finishing to type the new word;
however, this is visually disturbing during typing. Common word processors do
not have this behavior.

Thank you.

Downloaded and installed on windows 7. Yes it does solve the kpsewhich
problem. However, this installer uses LyX rather than LyX2.3 for the
user's LyX directory. Is this intended? Installer-1 was still using LyX2.3.

 Update to boost 1.68

This avoids warnings from gcc 8

Riki, can this be done in stable branch too? The warnings with gcc 8 are
annoying.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] LyX 2.2.3 Released

2018-12-14 Thread Chris Menzel
I'm always hesitant to complain about this brilliant piece of software but,
for me (Mojave 10.14.2 Beta) with this version, forward search (LyX ⟶ Skim)
is still very slow and reverse search (Skim ⟶ LyX) appears to be
nonfunctional. I've of course checked all the usual settings.

[ANNOUNCE] LyX 2.2.3 Released

2018-12-14 Thread Richard Kimberly Heck
PLEASE NOTE: Windows binaries are not yet available, due to a late-
discovered bug. Installers should be available within a few days.

Public release of LyX version 2.3.2
===

We are proud to announce the release of LyX 2.3.2. This is the second
maintenance release in the 2.3.x series.

You can download LyX 2.3.2 from http://www.lyx.org/Download/.

LyX is a document processor that encourages an approach to writing based
on the structure of your documents and not simply their appearance. It is
released under a Free and Open Source Software license.

LyX 2.3.2 is the result of on-going efforts to make our stable version more
reliable and more stable. One main fix involves a crash with external
viewers
on Windows. We have also fixed a number of problems with the output of
right-
to-left languages, thanks to the involvement of users. There was also an
infinite loop bug connected with the separation of environments that has
been
fixed. But, for the most part, the fixes here are incremental. Please
see below
for a full list.

If you think you have found a bug in LyX 2.3.2, please open a bug report at
http://www.lyx.org/trac/wiki/BugTrackerHome. If you're not sure whether it
really is a bug, you can e-mail the LyX developers' mailing list (lyx-devel
 lists.lyx.org) and ask.

If you have trouble using LyX or have a question, consult the documentation
that comes with LyX (under the Help or Apple menu) and the LyX wiki, which
is at http://wiki.lyx.org/. If you can't find the answer there, e-mail the
LyX users' list (lyx-users lists.lyx.org), where you will find an
active community of people who are ready to help.

We hope you enjoy using LyX 2.3.2.

The LyX team.
