Running latex in the background

Oops, sorry! The file as I write it needs a amsartswe.cls LaTeX
document class, which obviously does not exist. Change the beginning
of the file to read:
#% Do not delete the line below; configure depends on this
# \DeclareLaTeXClass[amsart]{article (AMS, french)}
This will force the textclass to use amsart.cls.
Thanks! Now it works fine, but I wonder if can change the names of the
environments as the appear inside LyX, i e on the menu with environments, as
well. Is this possible?

Problem getting lyx 1.0 to run
Hi, Ive recently downloaded xforms .88, and lyx 1.0. I configured, compiled and installed both without any problems. When I attempt to start lyx, I get the following error messages: fl_set_object_boxtype Setting boxtype of NULL object In fl_gn_form [forms.c 55] You forgot to call fl_end_form Once those two messages are displayed nothing happens and Im returned to the command prompt. Now I tried to install the binary static distribution, but as I type lyx, it returns the message : Killed. Do you have any other sugestion??? I am fairly shure, that the binary distribution is either outdated or for IRIX-6.2 which wont work for 5.3. You can therefore either get gcc and xpm and xforms and all the other stuff you will need and compile it yourself or I can try to send you a binary.
