Re: Problem in installing lyx v1.1.6
I am trying to install lyx v1.1.6 but got the foll error message "Cannot find forms.h". Maybe the headers have not been installed. To determine whether the headers are at all present, try : find /usr/ -name forms.h -print If no forms.h is found, you will have to install the headers somehow. Maybe by installing the xforms lib from a tarball : http://world.std.com/~xforms/ ftp://ncmir.ucsd.edu/pub/xforms/ ftp://ftp.lyx.org/pub/xforms/ ftp://ftp.fu-berlin.de/unix/X11/gui/xforms ftp://ftp.cs.ruu.nl/pub/XFORMS/ Maybe there is a software package for your linux distro that contains the xforms headers. In debian, it's called libforms-dev. Hth, Etienne

Problem at www.lyx.org?
Hi folks, I have been trying to access www.lyx.org since Monday, but there seems to be some problem in the way. The site gets contacted but the "Waiting for reply" takes forever. Any other sites I try are ok... just lyx.org is behaving strangely. Is anyone also experiencing that? BTW, I was trying to access the mail list from the last weeks. Are they mirrored somewhere? thanks, j. b. oliveira

The pdf file was generated with lyx2pdf, version 1.8, with standard options. I expected the links found in the pdf, from the Table of contents and Table of figures to be also generated for the index, since it is possible to get them in the postscript and in the html export. Stephane index_example.pdf index_example.tex #LyX 1.1 created this file. LyX vs. LaTeX question
Help! I put \usepackage{cite} in the preamble of my thesis. It was working for a while, and when I loaded up the thesis this morning, it wouldn't compile. I'm getting an error for each \cite: ! Undefined control sequence. \@make@cite@list ...\@B@citeB \relax \@citea {\bf {?}}\let \@citea \citepunc... l.10 ...\cite{Decoursey94, Kreuer96, Chizhmakov96} . The control sequence at the end of the top line of your error message was never \def'ed. If you have misspelled it (e.g., `\hobx'), type `I' and the correct spelling (e.g., `I\hbox'). Otherwise just continue, and I'll forget about whatever was undefined. I thought the problem had something to do with \makeatletter, so I put \makeatother and \makeatletter around the \usepackage command but it didn't seem to work. Any ideas? -Amir ps please Cc me, I'm not on the list.

The list is hard-coded into the source, so the only way to change it is to change the source code. This will hopefully change in the future.

The ERT inset isn't really officially sanctioned yet. I'm not sure why -- something to do with the insettext handling but tabular uses that also. Anyway, from the mini-buffer you can "ert-inset-insert" in 1.1.5 (I think) or "ert-insert" in 1.1.6. Allan. (ARRae)

upgrade
Since I am upgrading the server, there might be a few hours interruption of the list service. Sorry, this had to be done unexpectedly (a disk filled up). Mate
