You should define a transparency mask for your image. The transparency
mask is a gray scale image. More or less you should write something as
this:

\pgfdeclaremask{MyMask}{Mask}
\pgfimage[mask=Mask]{MyImage}
...
MyMask and MyImage are the transparency mask and your image,
respectively, both in a image format used by beamer.

I have a big problem! My Lyx Version is 1.3.4 installed with Suse Linux 9.1. My Pc has been turned off by accident while lyx was opened. When I turn it on again, I could not use xdvi, I could not export on pdf, nor print also. Files of configuration/ compilation have been certainly fused. What can I do? Thanks for your reply. You see a file that will be part of the LyX 1.3.5 release and which contains the text that will be used to broadcast this release to the appropriate media. Usually, the contents of this file are sent to the lyx-users list, to slashdot, to LWN and, indeed, to a number of other groups that I can't remember of the top of my head. You will see from the revision information of this file that it has already gone through 12 separate modifications since the release of LyX 1.3.4. imagemagick version suitable for lyx win32 xp
With some help from the IM bugs people, there's now a fix for the cropping problem in IM 6.0.8 . It involves 2 steps 1. Move the name of the source file to the beginning of the arguments list (so: convert myfile.ps ) 2. After the -crop 0x0 add +repage (separated by the previous and next arguments by at least 1 space). Note that this is +repage not -repage. The cropping problem also affected unix builds of IM. I had originally encountered it in connection with Eitan Gurari's TeX4ht converter. Eitan has now updated his distribution (note: the update distribution, not the base one) to incorporate these changes. I don't know if this fix will deal with the other problem(s) noted in this thread, but it's worth a try. Philip A. The author hacked up his own bibliography style (.bst) file, and the
lines you are looking for are these:
\newcommand{\BIBand}{% % makebst
\ifbibenv{and}\else\textit{\}\fi}
You might try adding that to your document preamble (you can get delete
the '% makebst' comment). I'm not sure, but I think you may also have
to use custom-bib (makebst) to create a customized .bst file. One of
the things it prompts you for is the separator before the last author.
To use this trick, you'll want to select \BIBand, which is one of the
choices. The catch is that \BIBand (which I think defaults to \) would
be used in both the citations and the bibliography entries without the
fix above.

the appropriate section in The LaTeX Companion, 2nd Edition. What it
comes
down to is differing views of what's proper under which circumstances.
For
example, in my book I used \textelllipsis but I was told by
Springer-Verlag's TeXpert to use \ldots instead.
The differences are both very subtle and of no interest to me. If
Springer-Verlag wants \ldots in their monographs rather than
\textellipsis,
then \ldots is what they get.
There are even more variants, IIRC. Read about them and pick the one
you
like best.

LaTeX Companion Second Edition in chap. 3.1.2.

With some help from the IM bugs people, there's now a fix for the cropping problem in IM 6.0.8 . It involves 2 steps 1. Move the name of the source file to the beginning of the arguments list (so: convert myfile.ps ) 2. After the -crop 0x0 add +repage (separated by the previous and next arguments by at least 1 space). Note that this is +repage not -repage. The cropping problem also affected unix builds of IM. I had originally encountered it in connection with Eitan Gurari's TeX4ht converter. Eitan has now updated his distribution (note: the update distribution, not the base one) to incorporate these changes. I don't know if this fix will deal with the other problem(s) noted in this thread, but it's worth a try. Philip A. The author hacked up his own bibliography style (.bst) file, and the
lines you are looking for are these:
\newcommand{\BIBand}{% % makebst
\ifbibenv{and}\else\textit{\}\fi}
You might try adding that to your document preamble (you can get delete
the '% makebst' comment). I'm not sure, but I think you may also have
to use custom-bib (makebst) to create a customized .bst file. One of
the things it prompts you for is the separator before the last author.
To use this trick, you'll want to select \BIBand, which is one of the
choices. The catch is that \BIBand (which I think defaults to \) would
be used in both the citations and the bibliography entries without the
fix above.

You should define a transparency mask for your image. The transparency
mask is a gray scale image. More or less you should write something as
this:

I have a big problem! My Lyx Version is 1.3.4 installed with Suse Linux 9.1. My Pc has been turned off by accident while lyx was opened. You will see from the revision information of this file that it has already gone through 12 separate modifications since the release of LyX 1.3.4. Well, never heard about a letter rau, there is \rho, \varrho, \theta and
\vartheta however.
