I use classicthesis, but if you'd like to report issues it's probably
best to do so at:

Hi Liviu,
thanks for the link. I checked through all the issues there but could
find nothing that relates to my problems. If necessary I will post my
issue there later.

There are others in the Bug Tracker.

I'm wondering if there is anyone working on this?

I learned a bit more about Unicode, Lyx, and the module system to
understand how Verbatim environments and environments like that were
getting caught up in this Unicode problem.

Basically, the noweb module uses the following InsetLayout command to
define a new inset:

InsetLayout "Flex:Chunk"
LabelString "Chunk"
LatexTypenone
LyXType Custom
Counter chunk
RightDelim @
Decoration Classic
Font
  Color latex
  Family typewriter
EndFont
#LabelFont
  #Color latex
  #Size Small
#EndFont
  MultiPartrue
CustomParsfalse
ForcePlaintrue
  PassThru1
  ParbreakIsNewline 1
KeepEmpty true
Spellcheck0
FreeSpacing true
ForceLTR true
Argument 1
Mandatory 1
LabelString "Options"
Tooltip "Options"
LeftDelim <<
RightDelim>>=
EndArgument
ResetsFont false
End

I was going through this and playing with the various settings to clean
up how I want my Noweb programs to be displayed when I figured out that
the PassThru option is the one triggering the problem. Despite the fact
that I'm using LuaTeX, and can work with UTF-8 all day long in my TeX
back-end, Lyx refuses to permit unicode when the PassThru option is
attempted.

It is not possible to get good results by disabling PassThru, as LyX
does too much processing of the input for that. Yet, by all accounts,
LyX has a hard-coded behavior to force PassThru to use Latin only
characters.

I would prefer to be able to choose whether I want to allow UTF-8
passthrough or not. I thought that maybe the ForceLTR option would do
this, but it does not. So, maybe a "ForceLatin" option that would choose
whether to allow or disallow UTF-8 in the verbatim/passthru
environments? Is this already possible?

Yours truly,

Aaron W. Hsu

The label width box is active if you select the *Labeling* environment,
which is an extension of (but different than) the "Description" environment.

Hi Michael,
Let's discuss it, what's been bothering you? BTW, you know there's a
bug-fix version of the v4.1 template in the 4.2 bundle?

Re: Hyperlinks work in one PDF viewer and not another

2016-02-17 Thread John Kane
Thanks Scott,
It looks like I'm running into a serious problem with Okular. I originally
thought that it was just a LyX-Okular problem but Okular seems to have
decided it will not open any web link that Evince (thanks, I could not
remember that name) and Adobe Reader will.

First re-installation has failed, so I guess I get to spend some quality
time trying to figure out what's wrong.

Re: Embed Gnuplot commands in Lyx

2016-02-17 Thread Jürgen Lange
This is a good idea. A small solution is, to write a short manual how to
embed Gnuplot in Lyx on the Lyx-Webpage. A disadvantage of embedding
Gnuplot code in Lyx is, that ERT doesn't understand unicode. So it's
impossible, to embed unicode Gnuplot code in Lyx.

Glad you got it working. We wanted to make LyX work more seamlessly with
gnuplot. I believe that Koji made efforts towards this goal. I wanted
to continue his work but I did not find the time and have since lost
interest. I CC Koji just in case you two want to attempt to bring those
efforts back to life.
