I agree. As I mentioned in a previous post on this thread, putting the code in
the pdf is not reliable enough to be used. So I have decided not to attempt to
do it. I will put the code in a supplementary information file for the paper
and post it online.

Thanks for your help.

Change specific pages from portrait to landscape mode

2019-05-08 Thread Rich Shepard

The document class is KOMA-report. At the end I have three pages of
inspection logs. Each page has a heading, an instructional paragraph, and a
table with three columns and 16 rows. I want these three pages to display
(and print) in landscape orientation using pdflatex.

In the preable is
\usepackage{pdflscape}

At the top of the first of the three pages is an ERT box with
\newpage
\pagestyle{empty}
\begin{landscape}

and at the bottom of the third page is
\end{landscape}

This is not working. What is seen are pages in portrait mode with the
heading and instructional paragraph on one page and the table on the
following page rather than heading, paragraph, and table on the same page in
landscape mode.

My web searches have not found the what I've done incorrectly. I expect that
someone here will correct my errors.

Thanks in advance,

Rich

Re: Articles written with LyX

All of the PDF articles on this site are authored in LyX:

Note that the formatting is intentionally made less formal than
something you'd see in a journal.

Where do I found articles written using LyX ? Is there a site ?

Not sure if this is what you mean, but I don't think we have a list of
published articles that used LyX. We do have one for some books though:

That would be very distracting to me as well.

I also can't reproduce. I'm on Ubuntu (default GNOME) 19.04 with system
Qt 5.12.2. I self-compiled LyX though. I can test tomorrow on the Ubuntu
version from the repository, if that would help.

How did you get LyX? From the Ubuntu repository or self-compiled or PPA?

Axel,

Well! You've taught me something new that was totally unexpected: yes, the
above does change the table numbering from 0.1 to 1.

I don't claim to understand how changing the numeric format works to change
the starting number, but I certainly appreciate the lesson.

Much appreciated,

Rich

I don't see that (LyX 2.3.2, Mint 18.3, Qt 4.8.7), which suggests that
it might be related either to the operating system (or window manager?)
or to the Qt version.

Axel,

No, I haven't. This command appears to change the type of table numbering
from roman to arabic, but that's not the issue.

When parts of a report are declared with asterisks so they are not numbered
automatic numbering of tables and figures seem to start their sequence with
zero; e.g., 0.1, rather than with 1.

However, I'll give the renewcommand a try.

Outline pane bug

2019-05-08 Thread Horsfield, Andrew P
Hi,

I am using LyX Version 2.3.2 on a desktop machine running Kubuntu 19.04
(Qt 5.12.2). I find that the outline pane refreshes itself every time I
type a character, which is rather distracting. The work-around is to
close the pane when typing. I do not have this problem on my Mac
laptop.
