Problems with limits and integrals
Hi, since 1.2.1 I experienced a strange behavior of the limits of integral. If I put the limits above and below the Integral either with \limits or with the M-m l shortcut it works fine till I save and reopen the document. After reopening the limit placement changed back to the normal placement like the one for exponents. Is this a known bug? Thanks Thorsten

Keyboard is stuck
Hi, I'm using lyx 1.2 for a couple of weeks now and is is great. However today I started writing a text and got a strange behaviour. Everytime I press a key for the second time , e.g. mm nothing happens. This happens for all keys including backspace, space and so on. I couldn't find any help on the list. Has anyone an idea why this happens? I'm using SuSE 7.3 but it worked fine and I didn't change anything on the system Below is the output of the Keyboard debugger for a new Document just pressing l two times Thanks Thorsten WorkArea: Key is `l' [108] WorkArea: Keysym is `l' [108] Using keysym [B] Workarea Diff: 4170181407 KeySym is l[108] State is [16] action first set to [90] meta_fake_bit is [0] action now set to [90] Key [action=90][l] Cannot decode: l SelfInsert arg[`l'] WorkArea: Key is `l' [108] WorkArea: Keysym is `l' [108] Using keysym [B] Workarea Diff: 0 Workarea: Purging X events.

Re: LyX on a CD
A self-extracting, self-installing LyX4Win would be a great idea, and would really get LyX into popular use, I think. As for X-servers, Cygwin's is free, though I don't know if that's as in beer or speech - they seem to have been incorporated into RedHat. See http://cygwin.com/xfree/ Robin Yes, I know a lot of people who would like to run lyx, but they don't like or don't have the time to switch to linux. And in my opinion getting lyx to work smoothly under windows is a lot of work. It would be really nice and really a big step forward for the popularity of lyx if we could get this done. The problem I had, was to find a suitable x-server, because cygwin only works for win2k I think. Frames arround equations
Hi, is there a way in lyx to put a frame around an equation? I've written formulas in math mode and tried to put a frame around them using the \fbox{} command like you do for equations in Latex. But this isn't working, I get the error, that the equation isn't finiished and } and $ are missing. I tried different positions for the fbox command ( inside and outside the math-mode). Is there another way to do this, or do I have to write my equations in tex? Thanks Thorsten -- Computers let you make more mistakes faster than any other invention in human history, with the possible exception of handguns and tequila. Mitch Radcliffe

Problems with article AMS
Hi, I'm writing a document in article AMS. When trying to view the DVI / PS I get strange errors. But when changing the document to normal article The DVI shows correct. I'm using 1.1.6fix1. The error seems to be in the last three equitations. Has anyone an idea how to fix ist? The article AMS is much more suitible for me. I attached the article AMS version of the document. Re: ps files
Hi all!! I'm working with windows. I export pictures from excel let us say... and by using the acrobat = distiller I save them as ps file.but lyx does not like them,it cannot = process (view )my ps files... do u know how to deal with this? thank you Antonio Regards, Antonio Laforgia, Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine Department of Chemical Engineering and Chemical Technology London SW7 2BY +44 (0) 20 7589 5111 EX 55650 I had the same problems with ps files generated with the ps-printer-driver from adobe. I found that tool didn't set the page settings right. I could correct this by using psresize of the pstools-package. This package should be available for windows too. Thorsten

Problems with numpad in 1.16
I just upgraded to 1.16. Now, when I fill in a table and try to use the numpad, the numbers appear in front of the table and not in it. The other keys are working normally. I'm running on SuSE 7.0 with kde2 and Xfree 4. The other problem is, that I can't get the point/comma on the numpad working. The debugger says: Workarea event: KEYBOARD WorkArea: Key is `comma' [44] WorkArea: Keysym is `KP_Separator' [65452] Using keysym [B] Workarea Diff: 1761726348 KeySym is KP_Separator[65452] State is [16] action first set to [-1] meta_fake_bit is [0] action now set to [-1] Key [-1][KP_Separator] Empty argument! Has anyone an idea, where and how I can fix it? -- Computers let you make more mistakes faster than any other invention in human history, with the possible exception of handguns and tequila.
