However, I also noticed that in the LyX Settings, bibtex is already set as the processor for bibliographies. I don't know if these two things are related, but if so, this setting doesn't seem to have the desired effect anymore. Anyway, I didn't have to explicitly set bibtex as backend before, now I do. I don't know that is a problem in LyX or in Latex. Sorry for posting so hastily, I hope I at least discovered something with bibtex being set as processor, and biblatex not using it anyway.
