The various documentation on Beamer I studied before do not offer the clue to this. Actually, I was not aware of this problem before you reported it. I will document this on the LinguistLyX wiki page for reference. Jürgen Jürgen, I also read of course your nice paper Writing linguistics papers with Lyx which reveals quite a few secrets but does not explicitly offer the solution (at least to the complete layman). writing glosses in Lyx beamer
Dear folks, Jürgen had sent me the code to be put in Documents Settings Local Layout in order to defunct beamer's example(s) environment in favor of covington's. I added this code in an otherwise well compiling beamer document and got it validated. Though after reopening a first line was added Format 49. Problem Subsequently all attempts to compile the document to PDF failed; the first line removed or kept in place making no difference. Latex error: ! Undefined control sequence 1.62 \makebeamertitle What needs to be fixed here? However, all my efforts failed to write glosses in a Beamer Presentation under Lyx. Can anyone furnish me a detailed guide to do it? There are several problems here: 1. covington and beamer conflict, since they both defines \example and \examples, This can be worked around by the following code in Document Settings Local Layout: Provides covington 1 Preamble \let\example\relax \let\endexample\relax \let\examples\relax \let\endexamples\relax \usepackage{covington} EndPreamble This effectively defuncts beamer's example(s) environment in favour of covington's. 2. In beamer, you need to put the glosse in a fragile frame. See the attached example for both. Jürgen Thanks in advance, Michael Berger * * Michael Berger, Dipl. Ing.
