When will Nokia release the source code to the time machine they are

available yet? I definitely want that!

It's very easy, just get yourself a legal department, any will do, it
will provide instantaneous time warping =)

Yes that was my point. This is IMHO too late :-)

I understand it may be hard to make everything ready at once but still I

I think kernel is the most probable thing one wants to recompile
immediately after getting the firmware binary. It is not much about SDK
(i.e. developing another applications for the system), but more about
GPL rights to get source to the thing you run on your device.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not upset and can wait few days :-) But still I
think this release procedure is not OK. It should not be - we first
release the binary and sometime in future we release 'SDK'.

Oh, BTW, the release notes were really good thing. Thank you :-)

(Maybe not all people need kernel sources and appreciate the
binaries...)

Looks like the 'significantly different' mainly means version magic
2.6.16.27-omap1 (newer) vs 2.6.16-omap1 (older).

When changing EXTRAVERSION in kernel Makefile to
EXTRAVERSION = .27
and recompiling kernel, the result boots in device with newer firmware
and there is no reboot loop and wi-fi works.

Ugly trick but works. Still I'm looking forward to real .27 :-)

[maemo-developers] kernel source for 2.2006.39-14?

2006-11-02 Thread Frantisek Dufka

Hello,

since the 2.6.16.27-omap1 kernel in 2.2006.39-14 is significantly
different from the previous one = old modules are incompatible with
newer kernel, older kernel causes reboot loop when flashed (newer wlan
module in initfs?), it would be nice to have kernel source as soon as
