[mapguide-users] Mapguide V 2.0

2007-11-28 Thread Chris Tallman
Has anyone else had an issue with the bundled IIS .NET install and the
mapadmin login? For some reason or another the php pages don't want to
load. I've installed on a computer where MapGuide has worked before and
have also tried the install on a fresh system.

I've been able to check the mapagent index.html page and everything
works fine there, so something is up with the php parts.

So is there a step I'm leaving out? Has this been an issue for anyone
else? Can anyone give me a tip on making this work?

Thanks,

2007-11-28 Thread Chris Tallman
That was what I might have miss understood what Dave was talking about.

I added .php with the two files to the Web Service Extensions list and
now it works.

Is this an item that should be added to the trac list to make sure it
gets fixed in the next release?

Thanks for the help.

Did you check to see if the IIS6 Web Server Extensions is blocking the
PHP? Maybe flip on the allow all ISAPI extensions to see if it is
blocking it.

Yep I'm using Windows 2003.

After the install I have .php set to php5isapi.dll. for the Mapguide VD.
This is how it was and it doesn't work.

After your email I added .php set to php-cgi.exe for the mapagent VD.
This doesn't seem to fix the issue.

Why am I adding a php ref to the mapagent directory when the admin is in
the mapadmin folder which in my case after installation isn't a Virtual
Directory(VD)

What platform are you installing on?

It's likely under IIS6 (Windows 2003) that the web extension for PHP is
missing. I have added an entry for the phpisapi5.dll and the
php-cgi.exe.

Regardless of your install platform, under the mapagent virtual
directory configuration add .php as an extension and point it to the
php-cgi.exe.

Note if you check the configuration under mapguide to ensure that .php
is pointing to the isapi dll you may get prompted to propagate a script
setting to the mapagent directory. DON'T select the mapagent directory
and let it propagate, just lick ok.

Dave

[mapguide-users] MG 1.1 with Opera?

2007-11-28 Thread uXuf

Hi all,

Has anybody tried running the ajax map viewer with Opera? It wouldn't at
least run at my end. Is anybody else experiencing this with Opera? I know
all the talk about the market share thing, but just wanted to tip-off

Opera is not a supported browser for the AJAX Viewer. IE and Firefox are the
main browsers. Safari might also be supported.

Re: [mapguide-users] MG 1.1 with Opera?

Opera almost works. If you switch Opera to user-mode (SHIFT+G) the map and
legend images will load, then switch back (SHIFT+G again) and the map
displays properly. Map controls all seem to work _if_ you switch to
user-made and back again to force the map refresh after each zoom or pan
or other operation. This suggests to me that some, probably minor,
modification in the event-handling code would have Opera working.

The other big difference is that Opera disables JavaScript access to
right-click events by default (until the user enables the Allow script to
receive right clicks option in their preferences) so the context-menu
actions (such as buffer and measure) in MapGuide won't be accessible. The
workaround to this problem is to make sure that all those functions are
also available on the toolbar or in the task pane when setting up the
layout.

Of course, with the change to the Fusion interface in MapGuide Open Source
2.0 there may be less incentive for someone to make the current AJAX
viewer work with Opera.

Re: [mapguide-users] Dynamically creating a line layer with SDF Feature Source

2007-11-28 Thread Jackie Ng

Just looking at your code...

Validation is failing because the $featureName should be an enumerated value
( FeatureClass or NamedExtension )

The value of $featureClass should actually be the resourceid of the layer
definition xml document. The current value should be the current value of
$featureName (ie. $featureClass = SDF_2_Schema:Selected)

 Hi all,

 I am trying to add a layer of lines to my map using an existing
 FeatureSource in the library. This FeatureSource was generated from an SDF
 (created by Map 3D). I want to create the layer using the
 LayerDefinitionFactory instead of the usual XML file way.

 However, I get a The new XML document is invalid error when I try to use
 the add_layer_definition_to_map() function of the
 LayerDefinitionFactory.php. Inspecting this problem it turns out that the
 layer definition that (I think) I am sending with the code is failing to
 validate with the LayerDefinition-1.0.0.xsd. I haven't touched the XSD
 file at all since installation. Probably this error could lie when I am
 creating my geometry, I checked in the examples and consistently it was
 specified as SHPGEOM, however when I check it out in Studio by creating
 a temporary layer from the feature source it is specified as Data. I
 have also checked by specifying geometry as Data. The error remains so.

 Another thing I am getting confused in is to provide the Feature Name. I
 provide it with the value of SDF_2_Schema:Selected, but I am not sure
 whether I should use SHP_Schema:Selected. Any pointers in this regard
 would be greatly welcomed.

 Here is the relevant part of my code:

 //Set up a temporary layer
 $factory = new LayerDefinitionFactory();
 $legendLabel = '';
 $filter = '';
 $color = 'FFFF';
 $lineRule = $factory-CreateLineRule($legendLabel, $filter, $color);
 $lineTypeStyle = $factory-CreateLineTypeStyle($lineRule);
 $minScale = '0';
 $maxScale = '100';
 $lineScaleRange = $factory-CreateScaleRange($minScale, $maxScale,
 $lineTypeStyle);

 //The following FeatureSource is generated from and SDF
 $featureClass = Library://akMaps/Data/Arteries.FeatureSource;

 //Could this be the real culprit?
 $featureName = SDF_2_Schema:Selected;

 //Or this?
 $geometry = 'Data';
 $layerDefinition = $factory-CreateLayerDefinition($featureClass,
 $featureName, $geometry, $lineScaleRange);

 //error occurs in this function, fails to validate with
 LayerDefinition.xsd
 $newLayer = add_layer_definition_to_map($layerDefinition, Selected,
 Selected, $mgSessionID, $resourceService, $map);

 Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 Thanks in advance,
 uXuf
