[mapguide-users] Setting / changing the initial Administrator password
Hi all Although I've been involved with every aspect of tailoring MGOS through the phpviewer files to suit our needs I was not involved in the actual install as it was done via the MG Enterprise 2010 CD. We now want to move this to it's own server to prepare for public access and I'll be setting everything up from scratch using the downloads on your MG OS site but I'm a little concerned about the generic Administrator password. Am I able to amend this as part of the install process, or is there a way to modify it down the line after install? Additionally, as at present we've had Maestro and MG OS Server all on the same pc am I right that the following is how we would set it up: server : Apache2.2, PHP5, MGOS Server, MGOS Web Extensions developers pc : Maestro Many thanks for your help guys -- View this message in context: http://osgeo-org.1803224.n2.nabble.com/Setting-changing-the-initial-Administrator-password-tp4984284p4984284.html Sent from the MapGuide Users mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ mapguide-users mailing list mapguide-users@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/mapguide-users

Re: [mapguide-users] Setting / changing the initial Administrator password
The server admin has a password change function. Change at least the admin password, and preferably the author password too. There is a security white paper somewhere on the Autodesk site that outlines some other important changes you should make before going into production, such as disabling authoring through your standard mapagent, etc... [mapguide-users] Layers...
Ok, this is going to sound like a very amateurish question but its been bothering me for a while now. I have a huge number of layers within my map (mapguide studio) which have been infilled with a coour to represent the variation of shrubs, grasses etc...(I work for a land management charity.) Expanding on the group will reveal the layers in order such as i.e grass and the relevant colour i.e green in the area format. However..the point and line layer also appear in the task legend. Even if I deselect them in thier properties it still leaves a space for them... I am finding it a bit untidy and unessecary...is there away round this ? RE: [mapguide-users] Layers...
Hi Matt I think it's a really pain. I guess you may be using sdf files, which can contain different types on geometry. One method, is to edit the layer XML, it's best done in MapGuide Maestro. Just open the layer and click edit as XML. Look for sections in XML name pointTypeStyle, lineTypeStyle or AreaTypeStyle and delete the sections you don't need. In Studio you can not edit the XML or reload it. [mapguide-users] Re: Join Problem
Hi Jason, Good news! Both of my issues appear to be fixed in the 2.2 version that you directed me to. Pre-alpha is a bit too scary for me to trust with my live site, but at least I know that the problem has been fixed. I was disappointed, however, that the performance of that 2.2 build is not very different from that of my live 1.1 site, and it is considerably slower than 2.1. I suspect/hope this is due to it being a debug build or something along those lines. I was looking forward to the noticeable performance boost that I saw in 2.1, but I suppose correct is more important than fast. Thank you for all of the hand-holding on this. :-) You have been very patient helpful. Lets see where I am at this morning: I am using Maestro and I it pulls up just fine through the preview. Re: [mapguide-users] RE: Show help on a specific feature when selected
Hi Neal, Here's the methodology I have used to link up hyperlinks in the legend... 1. In Maesto/Studio you need to change the legend label to: a href=http://server/virtualdir/Archaeology Meta Data.pdf target=_blankArchaeology Data/a 2. Also requires a change in the legendui.templ. Edit the Onclick function and comment out the return line (only line in there). 3. Edit the legend.aspx (around line 341) and add StrEscape( ) around the rtLayerGroup.GetLegendLabel() value Hope that helps, Jonathon From: shepwaydistrictcouncil neil.thomp...@shepway.gov.uk To: mapguide-users@lists.osgeo.org Sent: Thu, April 29, 2010 7:28:38 AM Subject: [mapguide-users] RE: Show help on a specific feature when selected That would be great, many thanks Jonathon regards Neil Neil Thompson Analyst/Programmer Systems Development Corporate Services Shepway District Council, Folkestone, Kent. The joins are successful.
