[mapguide-users] Mapguide-Rest with Beta 4.0

2023-09-20 Thread Scott Hameister
I saw that Jackie had work with Mapguide-Rest on his todo list.
Has any one tried Mapguide-Rest with Beta 4.0?
Does it work? I have a customer has has flagged the old PHP versions as a
problem , however I need mapguide Rest to work if I upgrade them to Beta
4.0.

I just use rest for Getting sessions, MAking selections, Getting
fieldnames, Getting layers, no fancy stuff.

Using Jackie's Rest client and a custom viewer. I did this for one other
person, but can't remember what it was, for some reason I am thinking it
was sqlncli. Maybe that customers problem was an older SQL version, and
nothing with mapguide 2.5.2

Have someone on mapguide 2.5.2, does it support TLS 1.2 as the only TLS? I
thought I saw a patch but I can't find it anywhere. The mapping data is MS
SQL spatial.

Re: [mapguide-users] What is the recommended setting for Mapguide hosting server?

2019-08-18 Thread Scott Hameister
That sounds like enough for most maps.

A slow loading map can be caused by doing any number of things to large or
unindexed layers. Themes/filters/labels etc can slow things down, non
geometry indexed spatial data.
Try turning off one layer at a time, and see if you have a bad layer

Re: [mapguide-users] mapguide and mssql low performance problem

2016-07-26 Thread Scott Hameister
Spatial Indexing is huge, as was mentioned.
I know it makes no sense, but I found a layer once that had to many
Varchar(max) fields converting that one layer to the appropriate varchar
lengths made a difference.
Making sure that your layers are the same coordinate system as the map
helps.
Make sure you have a primary key.
If you are theming a layer make an index on the column you are theming as
well.
I've also notice tables with too many indexes seem to suffer as well.

It is Every Wisconsin County Code. In Maestro you can select USA Wisconsin
then pick a County Coordinate..You can't project anything From or Into any
of them I have tested.

I Have tested Ashland COunty, Vilas County, and Florence County
Florence County when selected for example uses:
WKT:
PROJCS["HARN/WI.FlorenceWI-F",GEOGCS["HARN/WI.LL",DATUM["HARN/WI",SPHEROID["GRS1980",6378137.000,298.25722210],TOWGS84[0.,0.,0.,0.00,0.00,0.00,0.]],PRIMEM["Greenwich",0],UNIT["Degree",0.017453292519943295]],PROJECTION["Transverse

Variation"],PARAMETER["false_easting",438000.000],PARAMETER["false_northing",0.000],PARAMETER["scale_factor",0.9350],PARAMETER["central_meridian",-88.141667],PARAMETER["latitude_of_origin",45.438889],PARAMETER["Average
Geoid Height (meters)",-32.8700],PARAMETER["Average Elevation (system
unit)",1400.],UNIT["Foot_US",0.30480060960122]]

or
WKT:
PROJCS["FlorenceWI-F",GEOGCS["LL-HPGN",DATUM["HPGN",SPHEROID["GRS1980",6378137.000,298.25722210]],PRIMEM["Greenwich",0],UNIT["Degree",0.017453292519943295]],PROJECTION["Transverse

Geoid Height (meters)",-32.8700],PARAMETER["Average Elevation (system

Depending on which one you pick...Neither works forward or backward
projection.

Openlayers layers are different than mapguide layers..in openlayers I
believe mapguide is only two layers..the map and the selection image...then
each underlay map BING etc is another..you would have to ads your own layer
to openlayers. I don't recall what version Fusion is...you would search for
ol.Map or openlayers.Map to see the map creation and ol.Layer or
openlayers.layer for layer options.

Re: [mapguide-users] The map display width cannot be less than or equal to zero

2015-11-12 Thread Scott Hameister
You will need to have requested the map image at least once in a current
session and set scale and width and height before you can use many of the
other FCGI/REST calls on that session.
Is it possible you are firing this off before that when it happens

I assume the VPN is involved in both versions of open layers?
If not that would be my first guess.
I noticed a High DPI of 192 instead of the default...were you doing this on
both versions? That will create a longer run at image creation.
Otherwise nothing looks amiss

Re: [mapguide-users] Getting Selection Geometry on Remote machine FCGI/REST OR API ANYONE?

2015-10-22 Thread Scott Hameister
Thank you so much Jackie... I finally have an aspx class that can be called
by jquery etc that can get runtime map and make selection(put) on the rest
service across domains...one I get it to do the geometry collection I will
post it

I noticed that unless a map image has been requested that selections fail
because it must look at map states...try a runtime nap request then a
selection without requesting a map image and it will give a zero coord type
image request.

Always why a selection only returns a bounding box and not the individual
geometries? Maybe a flag to say return bbbox vs geometries?

Re: [mapguide-users] Custom GDAL for MGOS 2.6 and 3.0

2015-04-17 Thread Scott Hameister
That would be Great!

 Hi All,

As some of you already know by now, the standard response to how to get
ECW/MrSID/etc working for MGOS has always been to go to gisinternals and
grab the same GDAL binary release built with the same MSVC compiler we use
to build your particular release of MapGuide.

This suggestion worked up to the 2.5.2 release. Unfortunately, that above
suggestion does not apply for 2.6 and 3.0 as gisinternals does not offer a
MSVC 2012 compiled build of GDAL 1.10

I have just discovered that Tamas also offers all the supporting libs
 needed
to compile this full featured GDAL yourself at:

 http://www.gisinternals.com/sdk.php

Since that's the case, I am going to try building a custom GDAL (using our
internal GDAL 1.10 source tree in FDO) against these libs to see if we can
achieve our desired result. If this works, I'll post these custom GDAL
binaries up (you'll still must abide by the original licensing terms for
ECW/MrSID/etc) and see if we can finally put this frequently asked question
 to rest

 ...

until the next MSVC compiler update :/

Hi Flipper,
I am little bit confused, what do you mean by real world unit?
Original data in database (MS SQL) are in JTSK.
Working mapdefinition (mapdefinition which returns bounds) uses:
PROJCS[CzechJTSK/5.Krovak,GEOGCS[CzechJTSK/5.LL,DATUM[CzechJTSK/5,SP
HEROID[BESSEL,6377397.155,299.15281535]],PRIMEM[Ferro,
-17.7],UNIT[Degree,0.017453292519943295]],PROJECTION[Krovak
],PARAMETER[longitude_of_center,42.50],PARAMETER[latitude_
of_center,49.50],PARAMETER[azimuth,30.28813975989891],PARAM
ETER[pseudo_standard_parallel_1,78.50],PARAMETER[false_east
ing,0.000],PARAMETER[false_northing,0.000],PARAMETER[scale_factor,0.9
999],UNIT[Meter,1.00]]

While I need for my custom client side application WGS84 pseud., I am
using in mapdefinition coordinate system defined as:
PROJCS[WGS84.PseudoMercator,GEOGCS[LL84,DATUM[WGS84,SPHEROID[WGS84
,6378137.000,298.25722293]],PRIMEM[Greenwich,0],UNIT[Degree,0.01745329

Visualisation Pseudo
Mercator],PARAMETER[false_easting,0.000],PARAMETER[false_northing,0.0
00],PARAMETER[central_meridian,0.00],UNIT[Meter,1.
00]]

Should I change something to make it work?

I probably found the problem finally now, after few hours of investigation
 :)

The data I am using, are here:

 http://gis-services.sk:8009/mg/mapviewerajax/?WEBLAYOUT=Library://Bratislava/Bratislava_WGS84.WebLayout

And I compared it with data in original coordinating system

 http://gis-services.sk:8009/mg/mapviewerajax/?WEBLAYOUT=Library://Bratislava/Bratislava.WebLayout
(you should zoom a little bit, because at this scale everything is
invisible, username is common mapguide username)

However the problem seems to be in converting coordinate systems. Original
data are in JTSK and the http request QUERYMAPFEATURES outputs the bounds
without any problem. When data are converted in mapdefinition into WGS84
pseudmerc., it does not send me bounds.
Is this normal mapguide behavior? Do you see how I can resolve this issue?

I probably found the problem finally now, after few hours of investigation
 :)

The data I am using, are here:

 http://gis-services.sk:8009/mg/mapviewerajax/?WEBLAYOUT=Library://Bratislava/Bratislava_WGS84.WebLayout

And I compared it with data in original coordinating system

 http://gis-services.sk:8009/mg/mapviewerajax/?WEBLAYOUT=Library://Bratislava/Bratislava.WebLayout
(you should zoom a little bit, because at this scale everything is
invisible, username is common mapguide username)

However the problem seems to be in converting coordinate systems. Original
data are in JTSK and the http request QUERYMAPFEATURES outputs the bounds
without any problem. When data are converted in mapdefinition into WGS84
pseudmerc., it does not send me bounds.
Is this normal mapguide behavior? Do you see how I can resolve this issue?

is also the option to connect via TCP/IP. That requests a configuration

Thanks for your help Jackie,

I've gone through your quick freehand code :) very well done

Perhaps a problem that the FDO provider SDF doesn't support Spatial
operator TOUCHES or WITHIN
after removing Touches I now get an error when adding entries to the matches
list.
If i expand the iterations it could be finding a result but not writting it
to the collection?

I can find the nearest road easy enough by doing a distance measurement form
the point digitized to the nearest road.

Create a feature reader use current view extents as spatial filter select
all road features within screen then iterate through each one and use the
smallest distance to find the closest road.

but what I need to do is for the distance measured to return the point it
has found as being the closest point? it only returns the distance would
have thought it would know the point of intersection with the road as well
if it has found the distance to the nearest geometry?

I get that error when PHP hasn't installed correctly.Have you tried the web
server extensions to make sure they are working at least?

http://localhost/mapguide/mapagent/

Make sure Enumerate Resources gives you some XML output.if that is good your
FCGI is working.

I think there is a place Where you can set the Windows Environmental
variables so PHP loads correctly.

Check The newsgroup with a search.

Also check the handler mappings in IIS again a search in the User group
should reveal the mappings

On my install *.PHP mappings begin on the mapguide share to file C:\Program
Files (x86)\OSGeo\MapGuide\Web\Php\php5isapi.dll and are inherited
down..Make sure its local and doesn't say inherited there (bug of seen once)

Your FCGI handler should start at the mapagent subfolder and point to
C:\Program Files (x86)\OSGeo\MapGuide\Web\www\mapagent\isapi_MapAgent.dll

I'm not the expert here just happen to have IIS open and thought I'd chime
in.

what's going on here. Any ideas? This is a new install on a brand new

Scott,

For anything other than EPSG:4326 or the Google spherical mercator
projection, OpenLayers uses Proj4js http://trac.osgeo.org/proj4js/ to
handle coordinate conversion between projections, and that uses the
PROJ.4 format for initializing projection parameters, typically based on
looking those up based on the EPSG code.

So if you set your BaseLayer in OpenLayers to have a projection option
with a value of EPSG:1234 it will internally create the required
projection handling objects to transform coordinates. In your
application, you can either include a projection definition directly as in:
Proj4js.defs[EPSG:1234]=+title=LAMB sud france +proj=lcc +lat_1=44.1
+lat_0=44.1 +lon_0=0 +k_0=0.999877499
+x_0=60 +y_0=20 +a=6378249.2
+b=6356515 +towgs84=-168,-60,320,0,0,0,0 +pm=paris +units=m;

or you can have it looks those up automatically from spatialreference.org.

available then the projection will be set to the OpenLayers default of

I posted builds of the latest SQLite provider code compiled against FDO 3.3
and also 3.4 at:

http://13-9.com/SQLiteProvider-3.3.zip

and

http://13-9.com/SQLiteProvider-3.4.zip

respectively. Due to differences in the FDO API, I had to hack around a bit
of stuff, and I only gave the provider very rudimentary testing (I opened a
sqlite file and read some data from it).

Let me know if there are still problems with selection, even with this new

and attach some sample data to it so we can debug it.

Well, considering this is FDO 3.3, which is seriously old, there
  probably
isn't a build of the latest SQLite provider against FDO 3.3. It would
  have
to be a custom build of the trunk 3.5 SQLite FDO code against the old
  FDO
3.3 libraries. I'll check how hard that would be to do, I'm guessing
  there
is no chance for you to use FDO 3.4, given that you have deployed

For what it's worth, I just tried the SQLiteProvider DLL I posted for FDO
3.4 on a MG 2.1 RC install (dated May 1, 2009) and was able to create a
SQLite based layer using Maestro and did a multi-select without problems.

I have no reason to think that the 3.3 build is any different from the 3.4
one since I used the same version of the code to compile each one --
granted, for 3.3 I had to use a different version of Visual Studio, but that
should not be a problem if you have the runtimes installed.

Installed a 2.1 Beta release on a new machine and tried the 3.4 you gave

What version do you run that seems to work on selections? What installed

Also make sure that you have installed both the regular and SP1 runtimes
for
 Visual Studio 2005:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=32BC1BEE-A3F9-4C13-

It could be that your FDO was compiled with SP1 and the provider is
compiled
without SP1 of the Visual C++ runtime.

I posted builds of the latest SQLite provider code compiled against
FDO
  3.3
   and also 3.4 at:

   http://13-9.com/SQLiteProvider-3.3.zip

a
  bit
of stuff, and I only gave the provider very rudimentary testing (I
 opened
  a
sqlite file and read some data from it).

Let me know if there are still problems with selection, even with this
 new
DLL. If there are, then I suggest you file a bug report against the

We'll check your file.

It looks valid to me, but one thing I notice that is different is that the
geometry column is the last column in your table. There are some
optimizations in the provider which were added last week, which do different
SQL queries based on the order of the columns, and there may well be a new
bug there which I don't see with my data since it is using different order.
If it turns out to be a bug in the provider, I will post new DLLs and post
to the list when it's done.

What is the date of your SQLite dll (and what version of MapGuide, FDO)?
There have been numerous fixes done to the SQLite provider in the last few
months, and your problem has also likely been fixed.

Yeah it will not work. I'll attempt to compile it with 3.3 and post again to

I'll check how hard that would be to do, I'm guessing
 there
is no chance for you to use FDO 3.4, given that you have deployed
 already?

What is the date of your SQLite dll (and what version of MapGuide, FDO)?
There have been numerous fixes done to the SQLite provider in the last
 few

2009-07-13 Thread Scott Hameister
That's a straight point symbol not using the cartographic stylization
engine, which will allow me to use HWY shields as labels
The HwyShield Example gets me closer, but that doesn't use a
symboldefinition or a symbol library or even hex info...It confuses me more
since it points at InterstateShield.png...God knows where that is stored
since its not local

ResizeControl'AdjustToResizeBox'/ResizeControl

LibraryItemName'InterstateShield.png'/LibraryItemName

I downloaded every State Hwy Symbol and created a symbol library out of

create a master Set and contribute them back to the Group...

I dunno if it helps...but this example uses a Symbol Library:

Srry if it does not help.

RE: [mapguide-users] Maestro - RenderRuntimeMap questions

2009-06-08 Thread Scott Hameister
Ive always been wondering WHY the default is 96 dpi?
Most monitors do much better than that...and thus scale is never accurate as
displayed in the viewer.

We can read how many pixels wide a users window is, is it just that its
utterly impossible to tell How many inches those pixels translate too on the
clients monitor? If that's the case then whats the reason for assuming
96dpi?

1)
Not sure what the max values are, you will have to look
through the MapGuide source to find the limits
(fairly large in my experience).

2)
If you use MaestroAPI, just set the format parameter to JPG,
there is a similar parameter in the http interface and native API.

3)
DPI = Dots Pr Inch
So DPI defines how many pixels that your output device can display pr. inch,
and is used to calculate the display extent of geometry on your screen
or printer.

Scale is the display scale, eg. 1:500 or 1:1000.

Say you have an object that is 1000 inches wide, and display it
in 1:500, it would be two inches on screen.

If you set DPI = 96, you get 96 pixels pr. inch, resulting
in the object being 192 pixels wide in the image.

[mapguide-users] Brain freeze Combining MgFeatureQueryOptions.SetFilter For filtering and MgFeatureQueryOptions.

2008-12-19 Thread Scott Hameister

OK Here goes the scenario….

i have a map that already has a selction made in it that contains objects on
multiple layers… Pipes, CLs, and WaterNodes (points themed BY a field of
ObjectType MH, Valve etc.)

I need mapguide to return a list of values from the NODEIDS field for only
selected items on the “WaterNodes” Layer Where the field ObjectType =
‘MH’.

Ive gotten this to work by going crazy iterating through the feature reader
and a layerFilter….But this is really inefficient and I know it isnt this
difficult…
I’m plain out missing something when trying to incorporate
MgFeatureQueryOptions.SetFilter For filtering and
MgFeatureQueryOptions.AddFeatureProperty for Limiting the properties
returned?
It seems I should be able to use these two functionalities to make this code
much more streamlined without having to iterate a feature reader to loop
through each object in the layer and then loop through each field on the
object….Seems like I should be able to do this with no loops and no feature
reader going through every object but I keep getting stonewalled I know Im
just having a Mental block…Any takers willing to push me past this Brain
Freeze?

Thanks to all those who replied, and tried to help.

I was asked...

Why we want to use Java: well, our shop has expertise in JSP (and related
Java technologies), so it will be a lot easier to develop in Java than
trying to learn PHP and .Net etc.

Why we want to use IIS: we used to use Apache, but we had good success with
integrating Tomcat with IIS. Besides, that allowed us to run other content
which was IIS friendly (e.g. ASP, etc).

As you can see, we have the expertise in integrating Tomcat with IIS, but
that was with an older version of Tomcat (3.2ish). So we weren't sure if a).
the new version of Tomcat will function with IIS (or if MapGuide absolutely
requires the latest version of Tomcat), and b). if this set up will work for
MapGuide.

QUESTION: someone suggested to just do a repair/install on web server
extensions and just install the Java portion. Does that option automatically
configures IIS to work with Tomcat?

thanks again.

I generally agree with the give back if you take mentality of open source
projects, especially this one. But this particular problem lies at the core
of the DWF writer (eplot) which only Autodesk developers seem to be familiar
with. And, the customers that I know of that have this problem all use
MapGuide Enterprise so it would seem that the complaint is valid. Perhaps
the open source discussion list is not the correct place to voice this and
should instead be done on the Autodesk discussion groups.

By the way, this whole round-tripping problem has existed since the MapGuide
6 days where we could plot a map to DWF, but it had no spatial intelligence

[mapguide-users] DWF EPLOT Only one Layer can be selectable and have data

2008-08-11 Thread Scott Hameister

I Went through and Used the Plot to DWF code EPLOT.PHP to create DWF
output.
My DWF opens just fineHowever a few Odd things in their behaviourIt
only allows me to have one layer that is selectable for getting Object
Properties from.

In my map I have PLSS/Section corners that are selectable and Data is
Displayable in the AJAX viewer, same With my Parcels Layer...When i publish
to DWF only the Top most (PLSS corners) layer is ever published as
selectable and having Object Properties on it...I moved the Parcels to the
top then they worked and the PLSS corners didnt, even with only the PLSS
corners layer on.

So I did an advanced search on The PLSS corners by an ID and Voila its in
the DWF, but when i click on the Object hyperlink it wont zoom to that
feature, i do an advanced search on parcels and the Hyperlink works...Is
this a bug in the $mappingService-GeneratePlot Code?

I believe the OGR GPX driver is new in OGR 1.5.0 and MapGuide is still
using GDAL/OGR 1.4.4. It likely wouldn't be terribly hard to backport

Bob has posted publicly that SDF is an open format, but that it hasn't been
documented. Essentially, the source for SDF is the FDO provider.

You might be more interested in some work that's going on with native
SQLite:

http://trac.osgeo.org/fdo/wiki/FDORfc16

SQLite already has an ODBC driver, under BSD-style license.

This provider is already pretty stable in its current state. It's not as
fully-featured as SDF, but it is open and very fast. Listening to Traian's
descriptions of the optimisations makes my head spin.

I've been meaning to post a current binary for others to test; I'll see if I
can get to that tonight.

For FCGI I pointed at
C:\Program

Note the QUOTES were required

For the PHP handler I pointed at...
C:\Program Files\MapGuideOpenSource\WebServerExtensions\Php\php-cgi.exe

I cant remember Why but I believe I did this at the Default Web Site level
as well as on the mapguide Web Path as well
Hope that helps some

2007-11-12 Thread Scott Hameister
That is true. But that is using an FCGI call and not the Rendering Service
API.The API has no mention of DPI.I would think the API would have all the
same capabilities that an FCGI call has?

I started using the FCGI calls.but it became annoying because changing the
FCGI DPI.caused the Current maps DPI to change.

If I created a new Session to call the FCGI on, then my selection XML from
the original Sessions map didn't work in the New Session, because the Layer
ID changed.etc.

I have no used the ColdFusion stuff that you are using, but the call to
GetMapImage does have a DPI parameter, that you can use.
I have no trouble getting the images as I want, although the PDF format
usually reduces quality a bit.

Try looking at the code in the viewer for Printable Page, as it shows how
to use the calls.

IDOA==/ID IDOQ==/ID IDOg==/ID IDOw==/ID
IDPQ==/ID IDPg==/ID /Class /Layer /FeatureSet

This is not the same string as objects currently selected on the map..I need
to find the extents of this XML without screwing up the current selection.

I took the current Selection and stored it

cfset CurrSel = selection.ToXml()

Then I set the Selection to my String i.e.MyXMLString variable

cfset CurrSel = Selection.FromXml(MyXMLString)

Then Asked for extents.

cfset MyXMLEnvelope = Selection.GetExtents(featureservice)

But when I look at the extents.it's the extents of my original Large
Selection.and not just my subset in the MYXMLString variable.

,..What Am I missing here?

Maybe I am missing something conceptual here, I will appreciate if some one
can explain me what are the necessary steps in order to load a new package
file !? Also what I need to define inside the Mapguide studio in order to
activate the San Francisco Urban Forest Mapping Sample !!? (screen shot
will be preferred).

Thanks in advance Ori

RE: [mapguide-users] Buffers Buffers Anyone notice?

Granted that was A coldfusionized version of the AJAX code..but no changes

Subject: [mapguide-users] Buffers Buffers Anyone notice?

Has anyone Noticed That in mapguide Open Source Buffers don't come out
correctly measured, but in Enterprise they Are Fine.

..I thought I had cured everything by going into te AJAX Buffer source code
and changing one line:

cfset dist = srsDs.ConvertMetersToCoordinateSystemUnits(distance)

To

cfset dist =
srsDs.ConvertMetersToCoordinateSystemUnits(distance/srsDs.GetUnitScale())

But then Enterprise Started screwing up buffers.

WHAT would be different between Enterprise and open Source to Do this.

Its obviously a Meters foot issue. Is there an INI default to feet in one and
meters in the other?

.Looking over the Code Its gotta be in

When I run measure.GetDistance(0,0,1,1) in OpenSource I receive 3.2753716538

When I do the same thing in Enterprise I get 0.99966727859

So I know where it starts But why.all the other variables Carry through.

RE: [mapguide-users] Coordinate Systems

2007-10-01 Thread Scott Hameister
So in MapGuide Studio I export the MapDefinition to XML

My coordinate system looks like this:

CoordinateSystemPROJCS[OutagamieWI-F,GEOGCS[LL-HPGN,DATUM[HPGN,SPHER
OID[GRS1980,6378137.000,298.25722210]],PRIMEM[Greenwich,0],UNIT[Degree
,0.017453292519943295]],PROJECTION[Transverse Mercator, Wisconsin County
Variation],PARAMETER[central_meridian,-88.50],PARAMETER[lati
tude_of_origin,42.719444],PARAMETER[scale_factor,0.9600],
PARAMETER[false_easting,803000.000],PARAMETER[false_northing,0.000],UNIT
[Foot_US,0.30480060960122]]/CoordinateSystem

This System for Outagamie County, Wisconsin will not work on MGOS 1.2.If I'm
to edit this and reload the resource using an EPSG or WKT code what would it
look like? Where would I find it?

I am not 100% on the coordinate systems, but I have not found a way to add
coordinate systems.
You can generally use the EPSG code or WKT format for the maps.

The problem is that you cannot enter these codes in MapGuide Studio.
You have to change it in the Xml and then load the modified Xml back into
MapGuide OS.

If someone has an easier solution, please share :D

In case anyone missed it, Autodesk acquired Mentor (aka Norm) last week
during FOSS4G and announced plans to open source the projection libraries.
So... I think it's fair to say that eventually this problem will be going
away.

I agree that it is important. But the problem is that MapGuide Studio
assumes that the server uses the Mentor library.
This means that you should report the problem to Autodesk, as this forum has
no influence on the development of MapGuide Studio.

I usually google around for the EPSG code, and then use the http interface
to get the WKT for the projection.
If all else fails, I use the XY-M projection.

RE: [mapguide-users] Problems with xmlSelection

The map needs to be saved and refreshed before a selection can show

Subject: [mapguide-users] Problems with xmlSelection

Hi list

I need to pass an xmlSlection to a php class in order to be used by a member
function

Using javascript I get xmlSelection

var xmlSel = parent.parent.mapFrame.GetSelectionXML();

I post the selection like this

someParams + SELECTION= + encodeURIComponent(xmlSel);

I get the params at php class file like this

$mgSessionId = ($_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD'] == POST)? $_POST['SESSION']:
$_GET['SESSION'];
$mapName = ($_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD'] == POST)? $_POST['MAPNAME']:
$_GET['MAPNAME'];
$mapSelection = rawurldecode(($_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD'] == POST)?
$_POST['SELECTION']: $_GET['SELECTION']);

so $mapSelection is an XML string.

Then, I need to get that selection

$featureService = $this-site-CreateService(MgServiceType::FeatureService);
$resourceService =
$this-site-CreateService(MgServiceType::ResourceService);

$map = new MgMap();
$map-Open($resourceService, $mapName);
$mgSelection = new MgSelection($map,$mapSelection);

None selection is created!!

What I'm doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

I just checked with 1.2.0 RC2 on a State Plane, feet map and see the same
results as you.

Regarding your other question below, I don't think this has anything at all
to do with Studio, it is a bug with the AJAX viewer. Have you logged this
issue in Trac yet?

Nobody is having issues with buffers not working properly on Maps using
state Plane Coordinates? Or just no solutions.

Hello I am using Mapguide Open Source as my Server and Autodesk Mapguide
Studio as my Authoring tool.

All my Maps are Using state Plane feet in Different States. When I run a 66
foot buffer, it comes out 1/3 of what it should be, when I run a 66 Meter
buffer they run in what looks like feet.

Is this an issue with Mapguide Open Source trying to Buffer a map Made in
Mapguide Studio and not recognizing Autodesk Coord Systems in the open
Source Server?? If so how do we address this for people that want to buy
Studio but Use Open Source for their Server? Or is this part of a bigger
more Nefarious Issue?

[mapguide-users] Queryfeature under rendering service

2007-07-06 Thread Scott Hameister
I'm trying to run a buffer and then have it autoselect items on a given layer,
here's the catch, I want it to be able to select objects that are on selectable
layers that may not yet be visible

There are 2 ways to run QueryFeatures on a rendering service...the first works
great when I'm zoomed in and the layer is on but doesn't work when I'm zoomed
out and the layers off...the second one lets me enter a layer attribute filter
of 2 selectable but requires an xml string as if I actually know the parcels
I want to filter before the buffer.
I send in a blank xml string and I get a selection of one or two parcels but
never the actual amount that should be under my buffer
