The problem is solved: I replaced the 'Repositories' directory with an
empty folder structure. Now the service can be started again without any
problem.

Thanks for your help, Benjamin

Hi Gordon
I controlled Application Pools. I Installed both versions 2013 an 2015.
Everything looks correct - boths applications are using seperate paths.
After installation of 2015 everything worked fine while testing the new
version. After migration of the first projects and a crash of mapserver the
service couldn't be started again. Is it possible, that something is corrupted
in db-xml and the application has to be reinstalled?

Re: [mapguide-users] Can't start service anymore

2014-12-15 Thread Bernhard Maehler
How did you upgrade?
Did you make a package or did you copy the repositories?

Notes (in case you have copied the repositories):
- *Stop* the Infrastructure Map Server 2013, if it is running, before you
copy the repositories
- Do not copy the *Session* folder

General Notes:
The MapGuide server consists of the following 3 types of repositories:
1. *Library* - used for persistent storage. It corresponds to what is shown
in the Site Explorer when you use MapGuide Studio or MapGuide Maestro.
2. *Site* - used for persistent storage of the Users/Groups/Roles
information.
3. *Session* - holds data only for the user's current session and is
automatically deleted by the server if they have not been used for a certain
length of time. The server creates session repositories automatically as
required.

Also, try to follow the instructions on AIMS 2014 Wikihelp:
http://docs.autodesk.com/AIMS/2014/ENU/index.html (Section Installation
Guide | Installation for Windows | Upgrade to Autodesk Infrastructure Map
Server 2014 from a 2009 or Later Release)

2014-12-15 Thread Benjamin Zaugg
We exported mgp packages and imported them package for package.

After the import of every project we tested if everything works fine. This
procedure worked good for about 10 projects. After that we had the problem
that the service couldn't be started anymore.

Platform: Windows Server 2008 R2
While migrating from AIMS 2013 to AIMS 2015 suddenly the service crashed and

not get an error message in the cmd.

2014-12-12 Thread GordonL
Check Internet Information Server (IIS). Look under the Application Pools.
If the MapGuide2013AppPool is still there, check what applications are under
it. They may be confused and trying to use the old mapguide dlls.

Also, if you had 32 bit and now use 64 bit, watch for that.
