Re: Brno Hackfest News Coverage
Hi all, I don't think I'm going to have time to write a Brno report for gnome.org. Get in touch if you fancy having a go; I'll edit and there's plenty of material on Planet GNOME. We basically want a post before ('we're going to do cool stuff') and a post afterwards ('we did cool stuff'), plus microblogging during the event. It would be awesome if you could make sure that the posts get proofed before they are published... I signed you up on the wiki, so it's all official now. ;) Allan On Mon, Jan 30, 2012 at 5:04 PM, Christy Eller iamchristyel...@gmail.com wrote: Sure, I'm happy to- any instructions? Does anyone fancy taking the lead on this one? It's not a huge amount of work and it would be a great way to help out. Re: Annual Report Status?
Cool, aside from the wiki, does anyone have a list of who's in charge of/volunteered to do other articles? Are the respective teams working on their sections or should I just do for each of the remaining sections as I did with the Accessibility/a11y report? Re: Annual Report Status?
Hi, IMHO, it's better not to have homework articles - if a team doesn't have anything compelling to write about, they shouldn't be in the report. So I'd love to see us come up with a table of contents and each section should have an editor or author at this point. Cheers, Dave. But we definitely should not be wasting our time waiting around for teams that cannot get their act together. Annual reports should be good to read, but they also need a comprehensive overview of what our organization has been up to in the period, even if there are teams that are not excited about writing stuff up. karen -- marketing-list mailing list marketing-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/marketing-list
Re: Annual Report Status?
How about I combine the 'overviews' from 2010/2011 for each team (which are really just each years quarterly reports combined together themselves), and send them off to each group asking for updates/fixes/additions/etc, and then publish each of them. That way we ensure we have at least short status reports from each main group in GNOME. (This is basically what I did with the accessibility/a11y report.) As for the combination, that absolutely makes sense, should I/we contact GNOME.Asia GUADEC now re: how we're going to publish this or wait a while longer? If we're going to include their respective brochures for this year, do we still want/need their sections in the international events section? Or do we want to include the brochures along side/within that section? I love the idea of bundling them together to give to sponsors, and even link to them from our web published versions, but I don't really understand how it would work to actually include them in the report.
