 Hey all,

Just to get something started I created an initial page:

  http://live.gnome.org/PromoteTwoPointTwentyTwo

Please, increment and improve the content there!

I wonder if we should have a more readable url like
www.gnome.org/promote/2.28 that redirects to this wiki page. Another
crazy idea would be something like www.gnome.org/madetoshare or
 something.

 Ideas?

 Hi,

Some simple ideas of things we could do to better spread the word
about our new release (i.e. make it easier to let others promote the
 new release):

 - Links to quickly post a comment in Facebook/Identi.ca/Twitter/Digg
about the release. Funny phrases would be a plus. Ideas?
 - Release banner to post on your blog. We always informally
copy/resize/edit the front page banner to post something in our blogs
about the release. The results are not always nice. Maybe we should
just have a wiki page with proper images for blog posts or something.

This could all be in a wiki page like:
 http://live.gnome.org/Promote2.28 or something like this.

 Thoughts?

 Awesome!

I added some thoughts under microblogging and news articles. I'm rather

I didn't know how to find the link to a specific dent on identi.ca.

I think it's good enough to be published now, thanks a lot!

I like both ideas.

Snappy, funny phrases are not necessarily my strength, but here are
some to get people going: (Borrowing from the release notes ...)
 * GNOME 2.28 - supported by Friends of GNOME
 * GNOME has more friends than ever - join with GNOME 2.28
 * Become unwired - Bluetooth in GNOME 2.28
 * Out of time and don't know why? Try Time Tracker in GNOME 2.28
 * Cheese! Manage your pictures while traveling. Use Cheese on your
netbook with GNOME 2.28.
 * Need to annotate PDFs? Try Evince on GNOME 2.28!

And my art work would definitely be painful, so I let someone else
start that! (I'll start working on my blog post that needs a banner!)

Maybe a theme around sharing

GNOME 2.28 - Learning to Share

* Share your Bluetooth devices (Bluetooth to computer, Bluetooth phones
sharing internet access)
* Empathy - Share your location, Share your desktop
* Cheese - Share your photos from your webcam

I'm not very creative, that's all I've got.
