[MARMAM] Looking for pictures showing the blow of an Atlantic white-sided dolphin, white-beaked dolphin or harbour porpoise
Dear MARMAM community, we are looking for pictures showing the blow of an Atlantic white-sided dolphin, white-beaked dolphin or harbour porpoise. The UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea Visitor Centre in Wilhelmshaven, Germany is currently remodelling its exhibition. In the whale room there will be a game where visitors have to identify a whale by its blow. While it is no problem to get corresponding photos or videos of large whales, the blow of harbour porpoises and dolphins is only clearly visible under certain weather conditions, if at all. Did you manage to take such a picture or film? We would be happy to show your footage in our exhibition. Please get in touch with Dr. Juliana Köhler, i...@wattenmeer-besucherzentrum.de. Many thanks, Jan -- Jan Herrmann Cetacea.de Heidkämpe 25 | 26409 Wittmund | Germany +49 4462 923341 | jan.herrm...@cetacea.de ___ MARMAM mailing list MARMAM@lists.uvic.ca https://lists.uvic.ca/mailman/listinfo/marmam

[MARMAM] New publications week 31 / JMBA special issue
Dear all, here are some new publications of week 31/ 2008, which haven't been announced on MARMAM earlier AFAIK. By clicking the following link you are guided to a website, where the following references are linked to their according journal homepages. There you can find abstracts and contact information: http://www.mmbib.com/news.php This list is rather long today because of the Special Issue Marine Mammals of the Journal of the Marine Biological Association of the United Kingdom (JMBA). Because this issue is the result of a cooperation of Cambridge Journals and the European Cetacean Society, ECS members will have free access to the PDF files of this issue. Please note the following call for contributions by Graham Pierce, ECS Editor: There will be a 2009 special issue of JMBA on marine mammals and it remains open for contributions. To be fair to authors who already submitted papers, if there are too many papers for the special issue, those papers submitted latest will be held back for a future issue. While ECS especially welcomes papers based on presentations at the ECS conference, all original research papers and reviews on marine mammals will be considered for publication by the journal and there is no discrimination on the basis of whether or not the work was presented at ECS. Please do not contact MARMAM, the MARMAM editors or me for reprints. Thank you. Thanks to all of you who sent in reprints to be included in the weekly announcements.
