Compare this response with the stink over the Nakba Tour. Many of these
names (including Rania Khalek) seemed to approve Stanford SJP canning the
Nakba survivors' speech under threats from the Stanford administration,
which were rationalized by crying about "anti-Semitism" and alleging some
kind of relationship between the Tour and Alison Weir.
I note that while some of these signatories were supportive of the Nakba
Tour in that instance (and Paul Larudee specifically was actively involved
in organizing it), others, specifically Rania Khalek and Ali Abunimah (and
I'm sure others, I haven't revisited that silly incident in some time) were
willing to defend cancelling the event. How can these people go to the
extreme of defending SJPs that blacklist not only Weir, but also any event
in which Weir is even tenuously associated -- including a Nakba survivors'
event -- and then turn around and demand that SJPs silence Rania Khalek for
being too cozy with the Assad regime?
