Well, its either "U-Turns all the way" or "I guess the critical-syria gang
was right all along and we were wrong", so "U-turn" it is.

The beauty of that play it they no longer have to prove Obama was ever
going in the direction they said he was going, they just have to prove he's
not going in the direction they said he was going before and now reality is
their friend - hence "U-Turn." I'm thinking about re-issuing my 2012
"Barack Obama's courtship of Bashar al-Assad" with the title "Obama Syria
U-Turn traced back to 2008!"

These people remind me of a guy a met on the Coastal Starlight on my way to
the US Social Forum in San Jose. Its one of those trains that has lounge
seats that face each other. Well, this guy gets up from a north facing seat
and when he comes back a few minutes later, he sits in a south facing seat.
Then he turns to me and asks "Did this train just make a U-turn while I was
in the john?"

Ha, exactly. Funny thing about 'u-turn' headlines regarding US Syria
policy is that there have probably been so many of them over the last 2
years, since the pull-back from the imaginary threat to strike Assad
after his sarin attack. All in the same direction. A very long 'u'. Come
to think of it, the same direction since 2011.

What they mean is that Obama has been like one of these cars that drives
blindly down the road with its left-turn signal just blinking away, and
now

he's turned it off. No change in direction was involved.
