Re: [meteorite-list] From the Admin - Please Read

2004-07-18 Thread Sterling K. Webb
Hi,

Well, that explains the passage of 20-odd hours without a single post to
the List! Plain text, like gravity, isn't just a good idea; it's the law,
apparently.

 Good Evening Everyone;

Due to recent List processing changes, emails that contain suspicious
header information, attachments, and HTML will probably not make it through
 the List filters.

I have implemented these changes in a pro-active effort against email virus
transmission through the List. Unfortunately this may affect some emails
that don't contain virus code, but that only look suspicious.

If you think you have good posts that are not going through (by good I
mean text-formatted and no attached files) please send me an off-list email
 and I'll look into it.

 Thank you!

[meteorite-list] another From the Admin - New List Features

2004-07-18 Thread ajones

Greetings once more;

I forgot to mention in my earlier email that the upgraded List software has
some nice new features, so be sure to go the List information page at:

http://six.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/meteorite-list

and then:

Login in the last field at the bottom of the page under the section titled
Meteorite-list Subscribers (you'll need to enter your password on the
next page). If you forgot your password there is also an option on the next
page to have it emailed to you.

On your settings page you'll see some new options including the language
you prefer, unsubscribing, address change, password change, temp. email
disabling, and other delivery options.

I hope these new additions will make use of the List much easier.

Best Regards,

Dear Art,
Your ongoing dedication to providing the meteorite community of the
world with a newsletter/chat forum is one of the most significant
contributions ever made to the meteorite community.
I know you have received the Harvey Award in recognition of same,
but it is well worth repeating now and again - everyone in meteorites is
indebted to you.
Members may bicker and even grossly insult one another - and on
very rare occasion of extreme abuse, require at least temporary removal,
but you stand fast and never over react and provide the keel deep in the
water that keeps the list sailing ever onward.
Thanks
Michael

are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and
exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country.

[meteorite-list] Park Forest Winslow St. Crater...acquired

2004-07-18 Thread MARK BOSTICK
Hello everyone,
My postman just brought me a package that I think some of you will find of
interest. The meteorite crater from the Park Forest, Winslow St. address.
(Although, I think Winslow Dr. is more honest, I will give in to everyone
else and label it St.)

This was the spot most damaged on the house. The meteorite went through the
siding, insulation, and put a nice mark on the clapboard.

The collection of documents with the crater is quite interesting. A letter
from the city, a detailed description of the homeowners experience, the
letter they put in the wall before fixing it, photos of the removal and
more. More information later.but if interested in seeing the meteorite
crater house damage.

AND...I suppose- had this been an actual alert- we would have been

Right?

I wanted to see if the list was functioning.and to see if people read

controversial in there... ;-)

Yes, coordinates would be forthcoming to all NASCAR associates...
