Re: [meteorite-list] July issue of Meteorite Times is now up [Ron Hartman's Memorial]
Hello List, There was a memorial held for Ron Hartman back in March of this year, and it was my intention to share that event with the readers of Meteorite-Times, but certain events here in California brought about a postponement of that article. There were a number of people that wanted to be notified when this Memorial article was going to appear in Meteorite-Times. Well, for those who are interested, this is your notification. See below, for the links to Meteorite-Times that were supplied by the editor, Paul Harris. While I have this opportunity, I would like to add that there are other articles, as well, from other contributors about: Ensisheim 2012, Sutter's Mill, Coolidge (C4), Bediasites, Artifacts vs. Cultural Items, Anda Philippinites, and shop tips for making jewelry with meteorites and tektites. Enjoy, Bob V. --- On Mon, 7/23/12, Paul Harris p...@meteorite.com wrote: From: Paul Harris p...@meteorite.com Subject: [meteorite-list] July issue of Meteorite Times is now up To: meteorite-list Meteorite-list@meteoritecentral.com Date: Monday, July 23, 2012, 5:48 PM Dear List, The July issue of Meteorite Times is now up and we're happy to announce that we can now offer a print version of Meteorite Times. If you have ever wanted a printed copy of a certain issue (from January 2010) it is now possible. And just to clarify we have no intention starting a print subscription service. This is just an extra feature for those occasions when someone may want a printed copy of the magazine. We understand the cost of some issues is high and the cost is determined by the number of pages and binding. We add $1.00 to help cover the expenses of producing the magazine. [meteorite-list] AD - Tissint on ebay
Hello All, Ebay recently gave me the option to list one item without fees, so I decided to take advantage of it. If you've been looking for a nice chunk of Tissint, look no further - http://www.ebay.com/itm/230830693084?ssPageName=STRK%3AMESELX%3AIT_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649#ht_675wt_1007 This stone has particularly nice crust for Tissint. I've not seen a nicer stone in this size range, fully crusted or otherwise. We do have other specimens of all sizes and shapes available. If interested, please send me an email. Re: [meteorite-list] Melt Breccia Eucrite - The Cosmic Cookie - NWA7266 - AD
Hello All, I had a few people ask to see the exterior of NWA 7266 prior to cutting. The main mass preserves all of the best features of this Eucrite melt breccia. What appears to be fusion crust is in fact pure melt with massive amounts of vesicles contained in a crater-like concave feature. Here is the image of this side: http://www.lunarrock.com/nwa7266/dscn0002.jpg The rest of the stone was severely sand blasted during its time in the Sahara desert, leaving no crust or other unique features. Here is the image of the end cut: http://www.lunarrock.com/nwa7266/dscn0016.jpg FYI ~ The interest in this spectacular meteorite was so great that only the largest slice remains available, the 106.73g beauty as seen here: 106.73g complete slice (cs) - $4800.00 119mm x 112mm x 3.5mm 1) http://www.lunarrock.com/GH-423/dscn0003.jpg 2) http://www.lunarrock.com/GH-423/dscn0004.jpg Best Regards, Greg Greg Hupé The Hupé Collection gmh...@centurylink.net www.LunarRock.com NaturesVault (eBay Facebook) http://www.facebook.com/NaturesVault IMCA 3163 Click here for my current eBay auctions: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZnaturesvault -Original Message- From: Greg Hupé Sent: Wednesday, July 25, 2012 12:35 PM To: meteorite-list@meteoritecentral.com Subject: [meteorite-list] Melt Breccia Eucrite - The Cosmic Cookie - NWA7266 - AD Hello Folks, It has been a little while since I have posted a new meteorite for sale. A central axis like an alien spine, an asymmetry, similar to that of some forms of the maritime field: boats, sails, paddles etc. Not so much surprising if one takes into consideration the fact that both deal with drift. Exorbitant piece, congratulations! Sometimes it's worth to wait, and in any case to have agents all around ;-) Best regards, Matthias - Original Message - From: Michael Johnson i...@rocksfromspace.org To: meteorite-list@meteoritecentral.com Sent: Thursday, July 26, 2012 9:46 PM Subject: [meteorite-list] ROCKS FROM SPACE PICTURE OF THE DAY - NORTHWEST AFRICA (classification/publication pending) http://www.rocksfromspace.org/NWA_2012.html http://www.rocksfromspace.org/GALLERY.html __ Visit the Archives at http://www.meteoritecentral.com/mailing-list-archives.html Meteorite-list mailing list Meteorite-list@meteoritecentral.com http://six.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/meteorite-list __ Hinweis von ESET Smart Security, Signaturdatenbank-Version 7332 (20120726) __ E-Mail wurde geprüft mit ESET Smart Security. http://www.eset.com __ Hinweis von ESET Smart Security, Signaturdatenbank-Version 7332 (20120726) __ E-Mail wurde geprüft mit ESET Smart Security. http://www.eset.com __ Visit the Archives at http://www.meteoritecentral.com/mailing-list-archives.html Meteorite-list mailing list Meteorite-list@meteoritecentral.com http://six.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/meteorite-list
