Re: [meteorite-list] Clarification Of A Clarification

2017-11-09 Thread Adam Hupe via Meteorite-list

Anne,

There is a difference between the terms defaulting and stealing.
Stealing is a criminal term and defaulting is a civil one. I never used
the word stealing so please do not put words in my mouth. I also never
admitted to using faulty information either as you state but will not
post word of mouth statements in the future since they are only as
reliable as the person supplying them and one has to rely on memory to
recount them. I agree that written statements are always better.

I was publicly accused of self-pairing and "Gaslighting" by the person
you are trying to defend who injected himself into the debate with these
false accusations and this was not the first time. Anne, where is your
concern for others reputations that were accuse of similar things, by
the same person, which are well documented in the archives? I am not
asking for an apology but if it makes this situation right,

I apologize.

Adam

You accused someone of stealing Publicly, now you need to take back that
accusation and apologize just as Publicly.

It is only fair.

The statement below which was made during the debate that escalated into
arguments, was not clearly articulated and could be taken as a single
event, when in actuality, it was two:

The complaint against you, on the other hand, about self-pairing a Black
Beauty stone, which was never paid for according to the seller, resulted
in a different outcome.

The part that reads "which was never paid for according to the seller"
was a qualifying statement in regards to the stone and not part of the
original self-pairing complaint to the IMCA.  This information was
conveyed to me at a later date.

The IMCA doesn't consider complaints about non-paying parties that
default on agreements.

Some may fix broken slices, but to me it would be tantamount to
misrepresentation unless properly disclosed. Far better to take the loss and
sell the broken slices as part slices. As a matter of fact if I see slices with
fractures in them, I prefer to take the loss and break the slices at the
fracture(s) than to have the slice arrive to a client broken.

This is the main reason why I almost never buy meteorites with visible cracks
through the rind of the stone into the matrix.

[meteorite-list] I Processed my NWA 8529 H-6 into my Sphere Rough - Pics & Qestions

2017-11-09 Thread bobadebt--- via Meteorite-list
I received my 2.4 kilo NWA 8529 H-6 Chondrite yesterday and processed it
into my sphere rough today.

The good, it was quite fragmented but I was able to find the most solid area
to cut my rough from.

The bad, the cube does have some cracks and I hope Dmitry can stabilize it
before he makes it into a sphere PLUS it’s BROWN and I’m kind of sick of
brown spheres.

I have a couple questions.

Is it acceptable to fix separated slices?

If so what do you use?

Are collectors, in general, interested in large slices like this even though
they are have a separated section?

Should I just cut or continue to separate the separated slices in to smaller
pieces?

The 2.4 Kilo Whole Specimen

Here it is on the saw, which was just big enough to process this whole
specimen

The remaining cuts, the top left end cut is the only piece that stayed
together which is ironic because I thought it would fall to pieces due to
all of the fragments
