Re: [meteorite-list] BLM Resources for Rockhounds

2018-02-25 Thread Adam Hupe via Meteorite-list

When it comes to public land; The experience has been a dispiriting
succession of all too frequently broken promises that all too often
translated into loss of habitat for a vanishing species – the
recreational Rock Hound and Meteorite Hunter!

For all practical purposes; Meteorite hunting on public land is now an
extinct avocation here in the U.S. You pick up or sell a single rock,
you are most likely breaking federal law unless your searches are
limited to private land. Online sells of meteorites found on public
land can be tracked forever and will be used for political purposes,
especially when it comes to protecting the often abused and twisted 1906
Antiquities Act.

[meteorite-list] AD: Dropped prices on specimens! (Ad 9/12)

2018-02-25 Thread Bigjohn Shea via Meteorite-list
Dear Fellow Collectors,

Hope you are all doing great!

Sent this earlier this morning but never saw it pop up on the list. Apologies
if this is a repeat...

I’m planning an update to my website soon and in an effort to clear some
inventory I have dropped prices on the majority of the specimens listed there.
Some of these specimens I’ve had up for a good long while, and if they don’t
sell before the update I’ll be removing most of them from the website to make
room for new content.

https://bigjohnmeteorites.com

At the above link you will find a variety of hard to find NWA specimens, rare
historic specimens, new slices of rare CO classifications, specimens of new
falls, etc. There is a little something for nearly every type of collector.

Please take a moment from your relaxing weekend to consider adding some
interesting specimens to your collection.

Cheers!

Hi Rob
I believe it was classified several years ago. It is arlit pronounced
arleet.

Thanks Mike, I see that the name Arlit is taken so we'll have to see when
the NomCom comes up with. I strongly doubt that it is the same material.
