I would like to highlight 2 specific research lines linked to mobilities as a part of the “Mobile Communication, Economy and Society” research program. a) The study of the processes of acceptance, or rejection, of mobile telephony among senior population in developed countries, mainly but not exclusively Europe. b) The study of the contribution of mobile communication to social and economic development mainly in poorer areas, mainly but not exclusively Latin America. The main objective of the research line is to develop scientific materials which contribute toward expanding knowledge of the phenomenon from a two-pronged perspective: sociological and economic. The mediation of emotion via information and communication technologies“. It was published in August 2009 in the Peter Lang Oxford series Interdisciplinary Communication Studies edited by Professor Colin B. Grant and is an edited volume of especially written, peer reviewed articles that addresses the much under-researched area of emotion and ICT. This is the first of several volumes to be published.
