Re: [mogtalk2] Possible 1967 +4 4 seater for sale
Really sorry to hear about your plight Ian. Can you not recover the cost of the work (or the majority of it, at least) from insurance? Once such thing is some increasingly major repair work on our gothic pile - a converted Victorian chapel. I have just learned that the mini-spire/ peak/ pediment on the front may have to come down and be rebuilt due to some unstable elements in its base. We can add a certain amount on to the mortgage but I may need to be looking elsewhere for funds to carry out the repair. It's far from certain but one avenue that may have to consider is selling the Morgan. It's a 1967 +4 4 seater, TR4A lump (Moss box) which had a new head/valves/ radiator rebuild 2 years ago and which is in pretty good condition, ivory with burgundy leather. Not sure what it's worth even but if anyone knows of a person looking for such a spec then please let me know. I won't be giving it away but I'll take a fair price; after 20 years in the family it'll be a wrench! Cheers! I doubt it as it's weathering/ wear and tear and not a failure. If I left it to fail it would be catastrophic! RE: [mogtalk2] Possible 1967 +4 4 seater for sale
Just time constraints Brian, I was merely suggesting they put an ad in Miscellany, the best forum for what they need and it reaches nearly every Mog type person, the people who are buying mine actually contacted me last week but since I had put it in Mike and Bens hands I felt contractually obliged to get them to phone Ben and Mike, in bond trading parlance, my word is my bondI could have saved money but a word is a word...I never understood this house gazumping lark ? if someone pitches up at my flat in London, offers whatever and I agree, thats it, done deal, if someone offers 50% more 1 day later it doesn´t matter, I have done a deal, if I traded like the estate agents and second hand car dealers whom I have run into (no names mentioned) no one would trade with me or my company again, best Mike SWS From: Brian [mailto:bdown...@clara.co.uk] Sent: Tue 29/05/2012 12:14 To: mogtalk2 Subject: RE: [mogtalk2] Possible 1967 +4 4 seater for sale Mike Of course I should have said other advertising methods are available. I know Mike and Ben well especially with regard to propa plus fours! and if you don't want the hassle or as in your case living in Spain going through a dealer is an idea but they don't do it for nowt. Ian It's worth giving them a call to check - they may put some of it down to wear tear, but may cough up some of the cost on the basis it would cost them a lot more if it did fail altogether (when, ironically, it would probably be recoverable).
