Re: [mou-net] MOU state fair booth

2017-03-15 Thread Mark Alt
It was in my term as President of the MOU. I would guess 2005, after the
owl invasion. I headed up the negaotiations with Carroll Henderson andrhe
DNR then Carroll put me in contact with many others that made it happen.
The booth came about because Carroll and I displayed beside each other in
the Owotanna Cabela's one day. people were streaming past us but no one
stopped i drew up a large sign for the table "ask us about birds" and we
had a crowd the rest of the day...

[mou-net] MOU state fair booth

2017-03-15 Thread Tom Bell
Kate Kelnberger and Jen Vieth, MOU State Fair Booth Coordinators, are seeking
some information. They asked Elizabeth and myself, because they knew we had
been volunteering for all the time they could remember, but I do not recall
when the MOU had its first booth outside the DNR building. My recollection is
that MOU and Audubon Minnesota together had a booth in the Education Building
prior to moving the DNR building, I remember staffing that booth. Our hope is
that someone out there in the birding community remembers.

[mou-net] MOU State Fair Booth- only three shifts left available!

2009-08-24 Thread Jbaines317
Hello Everyone-

A big hearty thank you on behalf of the MOU from Kate I for all the
outstanding volunteers who have stepped up and claimed a spot...or 5...at the
MOU booth. We've managed to get every shift covered.
There are only three shifts with just one volunteer so if you've been
waiting until the last minute to claim your spot at the MOU booth-now is the
time.

Here is what is still open:

8/30 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Brad Abendroth
9/7 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Thomas Maiello
9/7 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. with Tim Oppenheim

Please drop me an email to claim your shift and include your mailing
address so we can get the State Fair Pass to you.

Thanks again!

[mou-net] MOU State Fair Booth almost filled!

2009-08-03 Thread Jbaines317
Hello Everyone-

Thank you for such a fantastic volunteer response and a big thank you to
Thomas for being such a great cheerleader. We've almost filled all the
shifts for the MOU booth at the State Fair.

I know some of you have been checking schedules and have been meaning to
sign up.
Now is the time to secure your spot before someone else gets it.
This is a great excuse to do something good for birds and the M.O.U. and
get into the fair free.

Each shift has room for two volunteers. If you want to bring a friend or
relative as the second volunteer that is ok. We have 9 empty shifts and four
shifts that just need a second volunteer.

Here are the remaining open shifts:
Sunday 8/30: One spot from 9 a. m.- 1 p. m. Two spots from 5 -9 p.m.
Monday 8/31: One spot from 5 - 9 p.m.
Tuesday 9/1: Two spots from 5 - 9 p.m.
Wednesday 9/2: Two spots from 5 - 9 p.m.
Thursday 9/3: One spot from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Two spots from 5 - 9 p.m.
Friday 9/4: One spot from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Two spots from 5 -9 p.m.
Saturday 9/5: Two spots from 5 - 9 p.m.
Sunday 9/6: Two spots from 5 -9 p.m.
Monday 9/7: Two spots from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Two spots from 1 - 5 p.m.

To sign up either drop me an email requesting a specific shift,
and please include your mailing address so we can get the State Fair
passes to you.

Or if you are more technologically adventurous you can sign up online
using the google calendar.
Brief instructions for signing up are listed below.

Thanks again for supporting MOU, birds, conservation.
