Title:
mudlet map cannot handle new Lusternia map

Status in Mudlet:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
When I login to Lusternia there is a note saying the map needs to be
updated. I go into Options->Preferences->Mapper and click Download.

After a while the map is downloaded. However the Map (Alt+M) is blank.
Either closing and opening the map or even restarting mudlet does not
make the rooms and exits appear.

The info display showing what room should be shown does appear and is correct
for the room I am in.
This is mudlet 3.0.0 delta using the Debian package on a Debian GNU/Linux
system.

[Mudlet-makers] [Bug 1597298] Re: mudlet map cannot handle new Lusternia map

2016-10-15 Thread Stephen Lyons
Note that downloading a map WILL cause Mudlet to forget where the player
is located - as that information is not something that could usefully be
included in a shared map - so the user will need to reset their position
after a download in order to redraw the mapper. Of course the current
packages for the IRE MUDs will probably take care of this as soon as the
player moves if I understand those systems correctly! 8-)

[Mudlet-makers] [Bug 1597298] Re: mudlet map cannot handle new Lusternia map

2016-10-13 Thread Stephen Lyons
I think this matter will be fixed by Pull Requests that fix issues with
downloading Xml Maps from IRE for their games (including Lusternia)
which required using a https scheme (and now also allows a local Xml
file to be loaded from the user's own machine) - this has been addressed
by https://github.com/Mudlet/Mudlet/pull/326 (development) and
https://github.com/Mudlet/Mudlet/pull/329 (release_30) and a future pair
which is about to go in that fixes issues with use https scheme URLs for
the Lua downloadFile( remoteUrl, localFilePathName ) command:
https://github.com/Mudlet/Mudlet/pull/323 (development) and
https://github.com/Mudlet/Mudlet/pull/324 (release_30).

[Mudlet-makers] [Bug 1597298] Re: mudlet map cannot handle new Lusternia map

2016-06-29 Thread Craig Small
Hi Stephen,
I'm seeing this on 3.0.0~delta-2+b1 which is the last release you guys have
tagged. You cannot really push either stable or oldstable forward. oldstable is
basically locked, there could be a backport of mudlet to stable but its quite a
bit of work due to its dependencies (some of the lua packages and qt4 come to
mind).

That odd version strings you see is how they tagged it back then and I
didn't realise or know my way around the code to fix it.

If the mapping is fixed in the git repo, is there a particular patch I can
cherry-pick into the Debian sid/unstable package? Alternatively when is either
3.0.0 release or the next delta going to come out?
It's like there is release phobia!

[Mudlet-makers] [Bug 1597298] Re: mudlet map cannot handle new Lusternia map

2016-06-29 Thread Stephen Lyons
Just for the record which Debian version are you running? I'm using
oldStable {"Wheezy"} so the Mudlet version I'm getting now is packaged
as "2.0-rc12-3" is labelled "Mudlet 2.0-test4 10-25-2011" on the title
bar, "Mudlet 2.0 June 12, 2011" on the About dialog (and I don't get a
mention there because that is a couple of years BEFORE I'd even heard of
Mudlet!)

I'm guessing that you are using the stable {"Jessie"} or unstable
{"sid"} Debian, but I have got a different (less powerful machine)
running Jessie so let me see what version THAT has.
