[Nagios-users] Monitoring Asterisk Dundi Peers

2013-09-04 Thread Bruno Martins | Grupo Rumos
Hello list,

I am currently using our Nagios 3.5.0 server to monitor our Asterisk servers.
Our monitored services include SIP peers, like, to see if a certain peer is
alive and well through Nagios, using NRPE. However, this only works for a local
peer.

Is there any way for me to monitor remote peers? Asterisk's CLI can do this,
but I suspect I don't have enough knowledge to change the Perl/Bash/whatever
script I am using.

Checking if one Asterisk server can reach another is not sufficient, since they
can talk to each other through ICMP but not make calls between each other.

Thanks a lot.

Best regards,

Bruno Martins

Have you set the warning levels (-c and -w) correctly?

Hello Bharat,

As some guys here on the list have told, you should not enforce your
desire to get answers as soon as possible.

We'll gladly help you, but we do this on our spare time.

Please take a look on how to configure Postfix.
Which SMTP server are you using for accomplishing the task of sending
notifications via e-mail, from Nagios?

Take in consideration that Nagios comes with two pre-built commands for
sending notifications. Just configure Postfix and try running those
commands from the CLI, for testing.

Kindly,

Bruno Martins

[Nagios-users] Nagios statusmap.cgi question

2013-06-04 Thread Bruno Martins
Hi list,

I have statusmap.cgi displayed on a TV screen, which works great with a
scaling factor of 0.7.

However, when statusmap.cgi refreshes itself (after a minute), it will
go back to a scaling factor of 0.0.

Is there any way to prevent this?

Best regards,

it is a very important tool for realtime monitoring .. it is much more
reliable and faster than relying solely on emails / sms ..
I use nagios core version 3.2.1, status shows one unspecified error

 https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/nagios-checker/

I'm using Nagios Checker 0.16 with Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64;

Our nagmaster and nagslave are version 3.2.0, and I also watch an Icinga
1.8.x server with the plugin.

There was no need to adjust the settigs other than to add the URL of the
icinga host after we set it up ;-)

BTW, in the meantime we also set up blosxom4nagios to have an RSS feed
for all notifications - in addition to sending mail and SMS'.

I would suspect that your system is missing some PostgreSQL libraries.

On a CentOS system you can issue the following command:
yum provides */libpq.so.5

This will tell you which packages provide that missing library.

[Nagios-users] Nagios Variables

2012-08-02 Thread Bruno Martins

How can I access Nagios variables like $NOTIFICATIONTYPE$, $SHORTDATETIME$,
etc from a text file passed in a command?

I have one command which is:

And inside message.txt I have those variables. However when I am notified,
I am not getting variable's values, instead, it gives me the plain
string $NOTIFICATIONTYPE$,
etc.

Googling didn't help too much.

Thanks for all help on this!

[Nagios-users] Monitoring Windows 2008 DHCP service

2012-06-25 Thread Bruno Martins
Hi list,

I used to monitor Windows Server 2003 DHCP service through this:

check_nt_proc!r0ci0!svchost.exe -k DHCPServer!

How can I do the same in 2008 R2?

Best regards,

Hello,

You're right. I've discovered that way (first one you mentioned) and was
able to configure it correctly.
Thanks,

Bruno

Why use check_nt still? Use NRPE
 check_nt!SERVICESTATE!-d SHOWALL -l DHCPServer
 or
 check_nrpe!CheckServiceState -a DHCPServer
