Re: [NTG-context] using \startfiguretext ... \stopfiguretext

 It might not be the only way, this should work:

 \placefigure
  [here]
  [fig:somelabel]
  {Caption}
  \placelegend{Figure}
  {Text}

 Hm, yeah, that works OK. I was hoping for something that made a little

 ik, let's give you a cue:

I don't understand...is that an ik, as in I disapprove?

 \placefigure
   {What a caption}
   {\placelegend
  {\externalfigure[cow.pdf]}
  {\input zapf \relax}}

 \placefigure
   {What a caption}
   {\placelegend[location=right]
  {\externalfigure[cow.pdf]}
  {\input zapf \relax}}

 using buffers makes sense here:

 \startbuffer
 lots of text
 \stopbuffer

 \placefigure
   {What a caption}
   {\placelegend
  {\externalfigure[cow.pdf]}
  {\getbuffer}}

Yeah, that's a good suggestion,
nikolai

Re: [NTG-context] fonts -- installation

2004-12-12 Thread Rob Ermers
Dear Friends,
Installing a simple font under Context has been without results sofar.
Under latex I can generate a perfect ps file (with dvips), but I
recently found out that the dvi reader (Yap) cannot locate a tfm file
and fails to generate pk files, even when I generate the pk files and
put them in the appropriate places.

This may be the reason Context cannot generate correct dvi files nor pdf
files, but I am not sure of course. (Needless to say that I update
everytime with Miktex.)

I am now trying to install under Context a font that should work right
out of the box: bookman. This font I cannot get to work either. See
below the test file and the log file. The log file does give any error
message; it simply does not load bookman (see the line:
J:\tex\texmf\fonts\type1\bluesky\cm\cmr10.pfb). Under Latex I get
perfect dvi and pdf files.

Does anyone have a clue? My eventual goal is, of course, to learn how to
install a new font.

Kind regards,
Robert Ermers

[NTG-context] Converters to XML

2004-12-12 Thread David Arnold
All,

I understand very little about MathML and XML.

Is it possible to take a Context document and convert it into XML and
MathML to be displayed in a XML and MathML aware browser? And what browsers
are aware for this task?

Is it possible to take a Context document and convert it into Braille for
the seeing impaired?

I'd love to hear about these issues. Pointers on the net would be welcome.
