[NTG-context] itemize and interlinespace

I am fighting to change the interlinespace in item text.
For instance:

By the way, is there a way to change the font

In order to purge the temporary context files I did (throught an alias)	texutil --purgeThis worked fine.Since the introduction of the ruby scripts this call now tells me:	remark: 'texutil' is now part of 'texexec'	warning: use 'texmfstart texutil' insteadSo I obediently call:	texmfstart.rb texutil --purgeThis silently does nothing.Neither does work "texmfstart texexec --version" the same as did "texexec --version".The former giving the TeXExec version, the latter gave the installed ConTeXt formats.It is not "texmfstart texexec --purge" because I tried that too.On the other hand, replacing "texexec --silent --pdf --autopdf file.tex"by the same preceded with "texmfstart" does work as expected.What happened? Dear friends,

I apologize that I ask the same question that had been asked a year ago 
but I can't find in the archive the definite solution.

I want to use new fonts in the ConTeXt to typeset the Czech documents. 
TeXFont seems to be the best way to prepare metrics. EC encoding seems 
to be the standard ConTeXt encoding. But it doesn't include tcaron 
(well, this is true at least for EC.enc on my teTeX 3.0 under the SuSE 
Linux 10.0 with the latest ConTeXt from May 28). (In the Czech the lower 
case of Tcaron looks like tqouteright but nowadays most AFM files call 
it tcaron).  Other glyphs may miss as well (I might not notice since I 
suspect that ConTeXt replaces missing letter with composites, e.g. 
Ecaron with \v{E}).

So, what is the standard way I should use? I can use ec-lm.enc but is it 
the right way? (Moreover, it seems there is no information for 
ligatures.) I could try to use il2, but is the right way? And I had some 
problems with xl2.enc used formerly for il2-encoded fonts.

So, what was decided to be the right encoding for the ConTeXt? (Is the 
answer the same for the Czech typesetters?)
And one more question: Does anybody have the enc file that would make 
the TeXFont to generate metrics for il2-encoded fonts for the use with 
csplain (the Czech version of plainTeX)?

I'm sorry you're not right. The lm-ec.enc really includes tcaron, but 
neither ec.enc nor EC.enc does, at least at my teTeX 3.0. If you use 
only LatinModern, it works, because lm-ec.enc is used. But I doubt it 
works well for other fonts. Does it? I was unsuccessful. Can you send me 
your ec.enc file please?

texutil will go away (i.e. be a wrapper only); the functionality has been moved 
to texexec.rb, ctxtools.rb, pdftools.rb, rlxtools.rb etc

[NTG-context] backgroundcolor broken in 2006-06-07

In the latest context version of 2006-06-7 coloring the background seems broken.Reverting to the version 2006-05-28 remedied this, but I have no intention of course, to freeze my system at that point.Here is a minimal example that colors the background in 2006-05-28 and does not in 2006-06-07:\setupcolors[state=start]\definetextbackground[showbkg][frame=off,location=text,    background="">\starttexttekst \startshowbkg background \stopshowbkg{} tekst.\stoptextCan someone look into this? For those on UNIX(-like) systems that have only texmfstart.rb enabled  
as executable (chmod a+x texmfstart.rb) this will not work as none  
the ruby scripts in the distribution seem to have their execution  
bits set.
The next seems mandatory if only texmfstart is enabled: texmfstart  
ctxtools --purge

There is a whole bunch of shell stubs in the distribution, in

scripts/context/stubs/unix

but currently you always have to redo the chmod +x after each update
because the execution permission bit is not kept in the zip, so it
gets trashed during the unzip operation.

I believe this bug was fixed more then a year ago. The names of ec-lm 
and lm-ec was changed during a time a year ago. teTeX 3.0 has not 
changed since last year since it is dead.

Ah, ok, that's exactly what I need to know.

I was thinking that maybe there was some kind of special look for the 
\MetaFun word: I was supposing that calling \MetaFun I would have 
obtained the (nice) shaken metafun logo of the manuals.

From the code, I can not understand why inlocaldocument is there. 
Setting indocument to false works as expected. This is equivalent to 
removing inlocaldocument completely (the unless inlocaldocument is 
always run). I will do some more elaborate tests to check is anything 
breaks.

Should the test-suite contain tests for ruby scripts also?

Copying is imho not necessary. As long as the execution bits are set  
any file can be made to execute by a shell. What to do is determined  
by the shebang line.
I am working in MacOSX which is UNIX under the hood and  
texmfstart.rb is excuted without the need for copying.

Very impressive, but surely there is a simpler solution! I just
want one header on the left hand page, a different one on the
right, and both of them centered on their respective pages.

following works:

I have to admit that there might something be broken. If I compile the 
sample I get the wrong sectionnumber in the header. i.e. the section 
number of the first section on the next page is given. If I use [first] 
instead of last, the first sectionnumber should be given, but in this 
sample still the section number of the first section of the following 
page is given.
Hans may be you could have a look into this matter? - Or am I doing 
wrong things?

Yes, I can do the above. Unfortunately the keywords like chapter
lose their special meaning when enclosed in any way. For example
\setupheadertexts
[chapter]
[][]
[\hfil\hbox to 20em{\stretched{\tfb\sc
Independent{}Publishing}}\hfil]

...works, but as soon as I place any command ahead of the keyword
chapter it just becomes the word chapter. for example this
doesn't work:

\setupheadertexts
[\hfil chapter\hfil]
[][]
[\hfil\hbox to 20em{\stretched{\tfb\sc
Independent{}Publishing}}\hfil]


And if I put commands in the \setupheader statement then this
works:

\setupheader[text][before={\tfb\sc\hskip 1in}}] 
but this has no effect:
\setupheader[text][before={\tfb\sc\hfil},after={\hfil}] 

I can of course roll my own as you suggest above. But if I want
chapter as a variable then I will have to encapsulate my \chapter
command thus:

\def\Chapter#1{\global\def\mychaptername{#1}\chapter{#1}}

...and use \mychaptername in my home grown header routine. 

In fact I have done just that today:
\def\mychapter{}
\def\Chapter#1{\global\def\mychapter{\tfb\sc\hfil#1\hfil}\chapter#1}

I can probably even get stretching in there if I work at it. 


I don't mind doing this kind of plain tex manipulation but it
still seems to me that Context should handle it somehow.

You can use the \domagic macro from my previous email to handle 
chapter, date and pagenumber.

 I have to admit that there might something be broken. If I compile the
 sample I get the wrong sectionnumber in the header. i.e. the section
 number of the first section on the next page is given. If I use [first]
 instead of last, the first sectionnumber should be given, but in this
 sample still the section number of the first section of the following
 page is given.
 Hans may be you could have a look into this matter? - Or am I doing
 wrong things?

It seems that something is broken. Even this simple example gives 
wrong headers
