Dear All,

In the mean time my general font problem subsists.

It seems that the gentium font is not loaded at all (see snippet from log

I use the standard typescript file.

Note that my file processed normally, including the gentium font, until the

Do I have to change anything?

I don't know how that works of Linux, but apple + magnifies text,
which results in even less contents on the page which defeats its
purpose, while apple - makes text unreadable, but also shrinks the
active area.

[NTG-context] bug with floats and linenumbering (mkiv) ?

2011-09-28 Thread Martin Fechner

Hi all,

I use mkiv and have a text which combines floats and also has a
linenumbering in a doublesided document. If the float is placed inside a
paragraph the linenumbering jumps to the left or right. But this
happens only on right-hand pages. Here is a short example:

\setuplayout[width=120mm]
\setuppagenumbering[alternative=doublesided]
\setuplinenumbering[location=outer,method=page]

\starttext

\startlinenumbering
\placefigure[left,1*hang,none]{}
{\externalfigure[cow][width=0.2\textwidth]}

\input tufte

\placefigure[right,1*hang,none]{}
{\externalfigure[cow][width=0.2\textwidth]}

\input tufte
\stoplinenumbering

\stoptext

It seems to me that it is a bug.

Best regards,

Martin

or, if you are sure that your document has less than 500 pages

[NTG-context] Blank lines inside verbatim environment

2011-09-28 Thread Jaroslav Hajtmar

Hello ConTEXist.

I know that this probably is no reason, but can be in an environment
\starttyping ... \stoptyping turn on, which will each blank line in the
statement reflect? I want put in the presentation in this environment, a
direct numbers of blank lines. The larger number of empty lines is
replaced by a single blank line (for obvious reasons). I tried to
experiment with the settings \setuptyping, but without success.

Thanx Jaroslav Hajtmar

Here is my minimal example :

Hello,

which of the following command options are (still) valid?

--modules=all

--goodies=all
--third=all

Which files (or in which directories) are affected by these options?

Is the asterisks '*' valid instead of 'all', i.e. e.g. --modules=* instead
--modules=all?

Is there a document (This Way, MAPS...) or a wiki page which would describe
this?

(I searched but found nothing...)

Best regards,

Lukas

From http://wiki.contextgarden.net/ConTeXt_Standalone
sh ./first-setup.sh --modules=all

and from
http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Fonts_in_LuaTeX#With_the_simplefonts_module
 first-setup.sh --extras=t-simplefonts

Hello,

I know these options, but I didn't know the --goodies=all one;
I saw it first several days ago in Thomas' topic errors with simpleslides
(style-specific):

How did you obtain the module?

sh first-setup.sh --context=beta --fonts=all --modules=all --goodies=all

So thus my generalized question - what are other secret/undocumented/unfindable
options, like --goodies=

- My idea was to have all the options described on one place - wiki, manual,
context.exe built-in help, whatever.

Best regards,

Lukas

sh ./first-setup.sh --modules=all
seems to work, btw.

You were the first one who registered via the web form! :)

You could have gotten the membership number 1 if it wasn't sold out at
fund-raising auction for 120 EUR.

We had the first General Assembly on Friday 23rd September in
Bassenge. We'll probably do some more promotion of the user group as
soon as we will have the account open, so that users can be redirected
to payment page straight away.

They aren't all that undocumented. For my system, this lua script is
used, and there's a pretty nice help listing right at the top of the
code:
http://standalone.contextgarden.net/setup/linux-64/bin/mtx-update.lua

Note that the option --extras has been renamed to --modules. (This is
alluded to in a comment near the end of that Lua script.)

@Mojca and the Standalone squad: perhaps first-setup.sh (or its
successors) should pass on --help to the Lua script without doing
anything else?

Cheers,

Use “style=\bi” to set a bolditalic style for your heading.

style=\bolditalic should also work.

 Found it, sorry for the noise. Just login and choose a different skin. :-)

 We could easily have a ContextSkin and ContextSkinWide, but I
 personally think that ctrl-+ is better.

Also we could have a javascript function which zooms the content to the
width of the current screen.

Apple behavior (apple-+ modifying font size rather than zooming) does make
the just zoom it approach less trivial though.

The reason I suggested a non-liquid layout for Context garden is that, in my
opinion, the normal wiki / liquid text style reflects poorly on a project
which promises beautiful typography.

For an example of additional precedent for this approach, the Textmate wiki
is also a fixed width layout: http://wiki.macromates.com/Main/HomePage

 Best wishes,
 Taco
