Hey Hans. Nevermind. It was telling the truth this time. I had forgotten
that I had changed something and inadvertently added an extra closing
brace.

\setupheadertexts[]
\setupheadertexts[Hello][][][World]

Unrelated to arranging. In fact, we have left/right/middle styles etc but the
new code has no fallbacks, so we need to add:

\setuplayoutelement
 [\c!leftstyle=\layoutelementparameter\c!style,
  \c!rightstyle=\layoutelementparameter\c!style,
  \c!leftcolor=\layoutelementparameter\c!color,
  \c!rightcolor=\layoutelementparameter\c!color,
  \c!leftwidth=\layoutelementparameter\c!width,
  \c!rightwidth=\layoutelementparameter\c!width]

Something is still amiss, perhaps unrelated to the above. style of the
left header text is ignored on even pages!

\setupheader[style=smallcaps]
\setupheadertexts[]
\setupheadertexts[Hello][]

\starttext
\dorecurse{6}{\input knuth \page}
\stoptext

Notice that the headers on even pages don't have the correct style.

[NTG-context] new beta

2011-12-31 Thread Hans Hagen

Hi,

I uploaded a new beta. As I'm still in cleaning-up mode, the usual
problems could show up as quite some code was adapted (moved around).
For those interested there is a file 'status-mkiv' that can be run to
get an overview of where we stand.

One big change has been the way alignments are initialized. There were
two methods (one for \setupalign and one for align keywords) and these
have been merged into one. A side effect is that an alignment change is
twice as fast as before which might make a difference in excessive usage
of \framed and some table mechanisms.

Another change is that \color[whatever]{} now always expects an argument
(in \MKII {\color[red] ...} is valid too. Some more commands might get
that restriction but not the style switchers etc). Again this is twice
as fast as the previous method (probably not that noticeable as many
switches happen otherwise).

For those who won't/didn't get it by snail mail .. this years card can
be found at

http://www.pragma-ade.com/show-gra.pdf#page=33

In 2012 it will of course again be a gamble if the betas work out well,

Hans

[NTG-context] searching xml node tree

2011-12-31 Thread Meer, H. van der
In the processing of xml data path expressions like a/(b|c)/*/d etc. can be
used.
However, I have a node that can be present inside every node of the tree.
One method to collect these all together is bij successive calls:
\xmlall{#1}{/node}, \xmlall{#1}{/*/node}, \xmlall{#1}{/*/*/node}, etc.
But that fails if the tree is deeper than foreseen.
I tried recursive searching within the node-setup-processor by calling
\xmlall{#1}{../*/node} but either this fails or I am not doing it the right way.
Any ideas?

Hans van der Meer

What is wrong here? (Using ConTeXt stable from TL2011.)

Hi,

the style defines the tag attribute as a context mode, so you need to
run it as

context --mode=11_09_21 --environment=mysecondstyle myexample.xml

(which is also explained in the accompanying document xmlgeneral.org)

But these files really are just a convenience for people who were
present at the conference. I'm currently trying to finish a paper about
this for the conference proceedings; you better wait for that. It
doesn't make much sense just taking these files out of context (no pun
intended) and running them; that's not what they were intended to be.

A happy new year to all of you as well!

[NTG-context] Scite Lexers

2011-12-31 Thread John Kitzmiller
This may not belong here but perhaps someone would be willing to confer
with me off-list?

After Scite re-install with new MkIV instructions I can not find where to
change background color. (I was able to change it before under ebswift
installation although syntax highlighting for *tex did not work--such a
deal!)

The only lead I have so far is, commenting out import lexers/lpeg in
SciteGlobal.properties takes away all highlighting for all languages.

I know there is a warning about lexer interaction from November 2011, but I
have not had any other problems (except Purge All does not work) with Scite
3.02, lpeg lexers 3.02-1, and ConTeXt ver: 2011.12.20 22:24 MKIV.

Thanks, John

I know this is a basic question, but I have no idea how to do it.

Since this is my last question to the list (this year ;-)), I'd really
appreciate, if anyone would be so kind to answer it.

Happy New Year,

Hey Aditya,

I've adapted it into the following.

% Insert a full page diagram, parameters are node name, caption, and
path...
\def\FullPageDiagram#1#2#3%
{
\startTEXpage[offset=0mm]
\startframedtext[width=0.95

It's not doing quite what I'd like though. I'd like the frame to be
flush with the outside edge of the page and the image to be perfectly
fitted to the frame, except at the bottom where the image caption needs
to be. I'd like to be able to say that the image should be of a given
width, with the aspect ratio automatically maintained.

Re: [NTG-context] new beta

2011-12-31 Thread 李延瑞
2011/12/31 Hans Hagen pra...@wxs.nl:
 Hi,

I uploaded a new beta. As I'm still in cleaning-up mode, the usual problems
could show up as quite some code was adapted (moved around). For those
interested there is a file 'status-mkiv' that can be run to get an overview
 of where we stand.

One big change has been the way alignments are initialized. There were two
methods (one for \setupalign and one for align keywords) and these have been
merged into one. A side effect is that an alignment change is twice as fast
as before which might make a difference in excessive usage of \framed and
 some table mechanisms.

The indentation is broken. Please see this example:

\setupindenting[first,2em,always]
\starttext
\input knuth
\stoptext

The result is that the first line of a paragraph is not indented but
the other lines are indented.
