[NTG-context] img.scan in lmtx?

2020-01-26 Thread Henning Hraban Ramm
Hi,
I use the lua function img.scan{filename}, but in lmtx I get "attempt to index
a nil value (global 'img')", so I guess this got renamed or moved?

Yes, i need to do that (assuming that you're confident that they work)
.. thanks for reminding me.

[NTG-context] new lmtx beta

2020-01-26 Thread Hans Hagen

Hi,

I uploaded a new beta (mostly lmtx). Challenged by Mojca we managed to
get native compilation under mswindows working in visual studio (and
soon the compile farm will do several windows compilation variants) so
future installation can have either native binaries or crosscompiles
(they have comparable performance with the native ones being a bit
smaller). The current upload still has crosscompiled binaries.

Re: [NTG-context] A question about whatever (Metapost)

2020-01-26 Thread Alan Braslau
What error are you getting?
(perhaps you need "save carre,p,a,b,c,d,N,P,M ;")

A perpendicular line is also the line "rotated 90" (about the intersection
point).

Wolfgang, thank you for this careful and helpful reply. It really made
me understand what is going on here. At the same time, I also feel a bit
more incompetent now because linenumbering behaves in unexpected ways:
you can set some values (like the starting number) with the simple
\startlinenumbering command but not all values. And there's this strange
difference between luatex and luametatex... Without this mailing list,
I'd be really lost. So thanks again, and I'm waiting for the official fix!

Re: [NTG-context] columnset issues

2020-01-26 Thread Henning Hraban Ramm
Another set of columnset issues: columnset areas

(1)
In the columnsets manual, there’s a type key or a second optional parameter to
\definecolumnsetarea that’s actually missing (commented code in page-cst.mkiv).

The manual doesn’t explain the setup keys; I assume x/nx is in columns, y/ny is
in lines, while x/y is the start and nx/ny the size.

(2)
Since float placement doesn’t work like I need it (must make another MWE to
better nail it), I thought I’d try columnset areas for the placement of ads:

\usemodule[visual]
\useMPlibrary[dum]
\definecolor[fakerulecolor][gray]
\setuplayout[
  grid=yes,
]
\showframe[text]
\showgrid

\definecolumnset[Two][
  n=2,
  page=no,
]

\definecolumnsetarea[AdSpace][
  x=1,y=20,
  nx=1,ny=20,
  state=stop
]

\starttext
\startcolumnset[Two]

\fakewords{20}{30}

\setupcolumnsetareatext[AdSpace]{\externalfigure[MyAd][width=\textwidth,height=0.45\textheight]}
\setupcolumnsetarea[AdSpace][state=start]

\fakewords{200}{200}

\stopcolumnset

\stoptext

The "AdSpace" should cover the lower left quarter of the page, y=20 should
start it in line 20, and ny=20 should make it 20 lines high, right?

But "MyAd" appears always at the place where I put \setupcolumnsetareatext.

Is this an error on my side, or is the code just incomplete/buggy/not ready?

[NTG-context] margintext and floats in the margin

2020-01-26 Thread Otared Kavian
Hi,

Is it possible to put some short notes in the margin, together with a float?
Below is an example, which puts the float on top of the text in the margin.
The option « stack=yes » works fine for the margintext when there is no float,
but it does not seems to be an option which puts the figure and margintext in a
sort of stack.

Thanks for any advice: Otared K.

% begin margintext-float.tex
\setuppapersize[A4][A4]
\setuplayout[
width=120mm,
leftmargin=25mm,rightmargin=50mm]

\setupmargindata[margintext]
[align=raggedright,
stack=yes,
location=outer,
style={\rm}]

\showframe
\startbuffer[sine]
numeric u ; u = 5mm ;
draw function (1,"x","1.5*sin(x)",0,710/113,.01) scaled u
withcolor transparent(1,.5,darkblue)
withpen pencircle scaled 2pt ;
\stopbuffer

\starttext

This is some text.\margintext{This is a remark in the margin.}
This is some more text.\margintext{This text is also in the margin.}
\startplacefigure[location=outermargin,number=no]
\scale[width=\rightmarginwidth]{\processMPbuffer[sine]}
\stopplacefigure

\stoptext
% end margintext-float.tex
