There are Noto Serif/Sans CJK fonts (including HK/JP/KR/SC/TC ) developed
by Google. But I don't know how to mix them with Hiraginfo Sans GB.

There is a workaround:

\startframedtext
\starthanging[left,n=2]{\scale[lines=2]{\bf Knuth}}
\input knuth
\stophanging
\stopframedtext

[NTG-context] How to use noto sans math font?

2023-04-05 Thread
Hi,

I try to use the Noto Sans Math fnt which can be downloaded from
https://fonts.google.com/noto/specimen/Noto+Sans+Math

But I use it like the following

\definefontfamily[myfonts][rm][latin modern roman]
\definefontfamily[myfonts][mm][noto sans math]
\setupbodyfont[myfonts,rm,12pt]
\starttext
Test Noto Sasn Math Fonts
\startformula
a^2 \quad \sqrt{a}
\stopformula
\stoptext

I get the errors `Math error: parameter 'supshiftup' with id 51 in style 0
is not set'.

Is there some method to solve it?

These fonts that I use are provided in ubuntu desktop. If you have an
ubuntu system, you can get all of them by

$ sudo apt install fonts-noto-cjk # or more fonts in the
fonts-noto-cjk-extra package.

The package includes the following fonts:

NotoSerifCJK-Regular.ttc
NotoSerifCJK-Bold.ttc
NotoSansCJK-Bold.ttc
NotoSansCJK-Regular.ttc

I have uploaded the four of them into github. The download link is

[NTG-context] 'lua.registercode' bug in latest beta

Hi,

Using '\ctxloadluafile' can get an error:

```
..ext/tex/texmf-context/tex/context/base/mkiv/luat-cod.lua:50: bad argument
```

It seems to be caused by 'if options ~= ""' in `lua.registercode'. That
empyt string should be 'nil'?

[NTG-context] Incorrect boundingbox information in .tma files for Chinese OTF fonts

2016-01-24 Thread
Hi,

After updated minimals to 2016.01.18 22:21, I found that the boundingbox
information on some chinese puncts is not right.

For example, the comma(uni: FF0C, decimaly: 65292) in
Adobesongstd-light.otf font, boundingbox should be "{ 171, -58, 370, 240
}". But in the .tma file which is generated by context cmd, the boundingbox
of the comma is "{ 152, -33, 833, 648 }".  The attachment describe these.

Maybe there is problem in the process of loading otf fonts.

[NTG-context] can not get the quotation marks from the fallback fonts

2014-01-07 Thread
Hi,

i find the quotation marks in those chinese fallback fonts can not work as
before. They always be replaced with the latin fonts. please see the
following example:

\definefontsynonym[pagella][name:texgyrepagellaregular]
\definefontfallback[song][name:adobesongstd][0x00400-0x2FA1F]
\definefontsynonym[fbsong][pagella][fallbacks=song]
\definefont[newsong][fbsong]

\starttext
\newsong 中文的\quotation{引号}。
\stoptext

i have another question, when i make texgyrepagellaregular as the fallback
font for adobesongstd, it can not work. see the following example:

\definefontsynonym[song][name:adobesongstd]
\definefontfallback[pagella][name:texgyrepagellaregular][0x-0x0400]
\definefontsynonym[fbsong][song][fallbacks=pagella]
\definefont[newsong][fbsong]

\starttext
\newsong 夹杂 English 的中文文本
\stoptext

the above English word is still display with adobesongstd but not pagella.

Re: [NTG-context] new beta

2011-12-31 Thread
2011/12/31 Hans Hagen pra...@wxs.nl:
 Hi,

 I uploaded a new beta. As I'm still in cleaning-up mode, the usual problems
 could show up as quite some code was adapted (moved around). For those
 interested there is a file 'status-mkiv' that can be run to get an overview
 of where we stand.

 One big change has been the way alignments are initialized. There were two
 methods (one for \setupalign and one for align keywords) and these have been
 merged into one. A side effect is that an alignment change is twice as fast
 as before which might make a difference in excessive usage of \framed and
 some table mechanisms.

The indentation is broken. Please see this example:

\setupindenting[first,2em,always]
\starttext
\input knuth
\stoptext

The result is that the first line of a paragraph is not indented but
the other lines are indented.

 During luatex run I get an error:

 I think local table.setmetatableindex(t,f) in the
 luatex-fonts-merged.lua should be local function
 table.setmetatableindex(t,f).

 After I modified as above, some simple examples can be compiled.
 However I get an error again when I try to use CJK fonts. For example:

 \font\song=AdobeSongStd-Light
 \bye

 The error message is ! LuaTeX error
 ...-context/tex/generic/context/luatex-fonts-merged.lua:4466: attempt
 to index local 'unicodevector' (a nil value)..

 I have updated the beta to 2011.06.11 and used luatex-plain.tex to
 generate the format but the same problems still exist.

i get to know what the problem is.

1. local table.setmetatableindex(t,f) in luatex-basics-gen.lua (or
luatex-fonts-merged.lua) should be function
table.setmetatableindex(t,f) otherwise it causes unexpected symbol
error.

2. unicodes table in font-agl.lua is empty now. it causes
unicodevector table is nil in font-map.lua (or
luatex-fonts-merged.lua).

 Accessing a font by name requires a entry on the database while
 access by file doesn’t need one. It’s possible \definefont doesn’t
 force an automated update while typescripts do.

 During luatex run I get an error:

 you should take luatex-plain.tex as example

It seems that luatex-plain.tex has been not exist in minimals for a long time.

2011/6/9 Hans Hagen pra...@wxs.nl:
 Hi,

 I uploaded a beta.

The luatex-plain format has been broken. I use the following file to
generate format.

\input plain
\directlua {tex.enableprimitives('', tex.extraprimitives())}
\pdfoutput=1
\everyjob \expandafter {%
\the\everyjob
\input luatex-basics\relax
\input luatex-fonts\relax

\edef\fmtversion{\fmtversion+luatex}
\dump

During luatex run I get an error:

! LuaTeX error
...pt/context/tex/texmf-context/tex/generic/context/luatex-fonts-merged.lua:2655:
unexpected symbol near '.

I think local table.setmetatableindex(t,f) in the
luatex-fonts-merged.lua should be local function
table.setmetatableindex(t,f).

After I modified as above, some simple examples can be compiled.
However I get an error again when I try to use CJK fonts. For example:

\font\song=AdobeSongStd-Light
\bye

The error message is ! LuaTeX error
...-context/tex/generic/context/luatex-fonts-merged.lua:4466: attempt
to index local 'unicodevector' (a nil value)..

 this seems to be mkii-only.

Hm, if you use:

However ConTeXt advises to use \blank instead of \vskip, for example:

Re: [NTG-context] Redundant equation is a MetaPost bug in MkIV?

2010-12-05 Thread
2010/12/5 Alan BRASLAU alan.bras...@cea.fr:
 Hello,

 You should change all of the = to :=, as in
 u := 1cm;

 This instructs metapost to assign a value to the variable;
 the standard form u = 1cm is a formula for metapost to solve.
 It tries then to resolve u = 1cm; xmin = -2.6u; and xmax = 4u;
 as a coupled set of equations. Sometimes you can get away with
 this but in general one should use the := (assignment) form.

 Consider, for example:
 u = u + 1;
 (a standard programming statement but nonsense for a mathematician).

I know the difference between = and :=. But that example shows the
metafun in MkIV is abnormal since it can be compiled rightly in MkII,
which should not have any syntax error.

In fact, the following example can be compiled rightly in MkIV.

\starttext
\startMPcode
save u, xmin, xmax;
u = 1cm;
xmin = -2.6u;
xmax = 4u;
drawarrow (xmin,0)--(xmax,0);
label.lft(hello,(0, 0));
\stopMPcode
\stoptext

[NTG-context] Redundant equation is a MetaPost bug in MkIV?

2010-12-04 Thread
Hi,

See the following example:

\starttext
\startMPcode
u = 1cm;
xmin = -2.6u;
xmax = 4u;
drawarrow (xmin,0)--(xmax,0);
\stopMPcode
\stoptext

It can be compiled rightly. But when I add the 'label' line into it, see:

\starttext
\startMPcode
u = 1cm;
xmin = -2.6u;
xmax = 4u;
drawarrow (xmin,0)--(xmax,0);
label.lft(hello,(0, 0));
\stopMPcode
\stoptext

Now it can not be compiled and luatex outputs:

mplib : loading 'metafun.mp' (experimental metapost version two)
mplibmp terminal: ! Redundant equation.
to be read again
   ;
* u = 1cm;
 xmin = -2.6u; xmax = 4u; drawarrow (xmin,0)--(xmax,0); label.lf...

! Redundant equation.
to be read again

Is this a bug or it always need to use 'save' macro to hold these
local variable in metafun?

 My friend sent a mail to Ken Lunde who works for adobe systems
 incorporated. He replied:

 I forwarded your email to the Acrobat team for investigation.
 When I copied the body text from the first file, and all of the text
 from the second file, the code points are PUA, specifically Unicode
 Plane 16. The heading text of the first file appears to be encoded
 correctly. I am guessing that this is a PDF producer issue.

 In the above, the first file is the tex file of the pdf file which is
 the attachment for my previous mail; the second one is that
 attachment.

Recently Ken Lunde replied again:

 Gu Hua forwarded your email to the Acrobat, which investigated this issue.

 The evidence points toward a malformed or poorly-made ToUnicode table.
 It would be appropriate for Adobe Reader to ignore such a ToUnicode
 table.

 It would be useful to know how the ToUnicode table is made by this PDF
 producer. I know that when making a static ToUnicode mapping resource,
 which uses CMap resource syntax, it is very easy to make an invalid
 one, specifically because CID ranges, when expressed as two-byte
 values, cannot cross first-byte boundaries. Also, UTF-32 (and UTF-8)
 cannot be used directly, and such values must be converted to UTF-16.
 One or both of these issues, if not handles correctly, can result in
 an invalid ToUnicode table.

In fact the text with fonts such as simsun.ttc can not be copied
rightly but the text with fonts such as AdobeSongStd-Light.otf can be
copied rightly. It seems like that this problem may be related to the
font loading script of mkiv.

[NTG-context] problem with the removing of glue node in scrp-cjk.lua

2010-08-30 Thread
Hi Hans,

In scrp-cjk.lua, the function process can eat some glue node between
CJK glyphs. But the following glue nodes between CJK glyph and
half_width_open/half_width_close glyphs should not be eaten.

For example:

\starttext

\stoptext

Its output need stay the same.

Therefore I think the function process need add some codes for the
test of half_width_open/half_width_close glyphs. This is a patch for
it.

[NTG-context] two problems for bib module

2010-07-19 Thread
Hi all,

1. For the cite of 'authoryear', how to make it being clickable link?

This is a minimum example:

%%%
%% filename: test.tex
\setupinteraction[state=start]
\setupbibtex[database=ref]

\setupcite[authoryear]
\setuppublications[refcommand=authoryear]

  journal={Journal of Bala bala},
  volume={46},
  number={6},
  pages={833--857},
  year={1999},
  publisher={Bala Bala}
}

2. In .bib file for Chinese (maybe cjk more exact) references, because
the 'and' separator can not work, we have to use some Chinese
punctuations as separator, such as Chinese comma. In this case, the
cite of author's et.al. can not work.

The following is an example (needed AdobeSongStd-Light.otf).

 it seems that the following commands can solved this problem.

 sed -i 's/t\[vv.v\]/t\[vv\]/g'  $TEXMFOS/bin/luatools
 sed -i 's/t\[vv.v\]/t\[vv\]/g'  $TEXMFOS/bin/mtxrun

$ sed -i  's/t\[vv.v\] = kk/t\[k\] = vv/g'  $TEXMFOS/bin/mtxrun
$ luatools --generate
$ sed -i  's//t\[vv.v\] = kk/t\[k\] = vv/g'  `luatools data-res.lua`

 the last command should be

 $ sed -i  's/t\[vv.v\] = kk/t\[k\] = vv/g'  `luatools data-res.lua`

 then

 $ context --make

 It seems ok on my linux 32bit box

changing 't[vv.v] = vv' to 't[kk] = vv' maybe more right.

[NTG-context] Problem with the loading cid fonts in luatex-plain format

2010-05-09 Thread
Hi,

The following is my test file for Adobe OTF fonts loading.

\font\cidfont=file:AdobeSongStd-Light
\cidfont 测试
\bye

I have put the Adobe-GB1-4.cidmap file into the directory which
contains the test file. As a result, luatex gives this waring:

LuaTeX warning: lua-loaded font [51] (file:AdobeSongStd-Light) has
no characters!

I remember it could work before.

My environment: linux x86 / context minimals  2010.05.08 13:33 /
luatex 0.60.1-2010050821

 there are two user hooks:

 tasks.appendaction(processors,before,modules.mine.whatever_a)
 tasks.appendaction(processors,after,modules.mine.whatever_b)
 -

 My example looks now

 \starttext
 \startluacode
 function MyPreLB(head,gc)
  texio.write(\n)
  for n in node.traverse(head) do
    if node.type(n.id) == glyph then
      texio.write(string.char(n.char))
    elseif node.type(n.id) == glue then
      texio.write(' ')
    end
  end
  texio.write(\n)
  return head
 end
 tasks.appendaction(processors,before,MyPreLB)
 \stopluacode
 Dies ist ein Test.
 \stoptext

 Is it correct to return 'head'?

Maybe 'return head, true', because I found a few functions in the beta
do so. Such as 'scripts.preprocess'.

if you are using MkII, i think you can try 'mktexlsr'.

Maybe your luatex version is 0.60. You can try to downgrade it to 0.52.
