Hi,
Regarding the following example I've got two questions.
(1) Why don't I ever see the argument #2 in the output?
(2) What do I have to do to suppress the unwanted space
after the end of the output of this macro (as can be seen
in the result before the following comma)?

Thanks a lot, elegant and much shorter.
But, alas, I can't test it yet since the
\doifsomethingelse seems to be somewhat
newer. My oldtimer (according to Hraban)
shall really be updated during the next
days or weeks ...
Does anyone know when the TL 2008 will be
distributed to the DANTE-members?

Hi, Do I really have to install ruby? I downloaded it, but can't find anything like install, setup or something like this. Even the readme is not very helpful at all. And another question: for using Ruby - and therefore ConTeXt - do I need cygwin? [NTG-context] defining (new) macros with optional arguments
Hi,
Does something like \newcommand exist in ConTeXt?
My questions aims especially at the optional argument
with a predefined value. So, how do I realize
\newcommand{\test}[2][A]{foo}
with ConTeXt. In the fine manual I found an index entry
\definecommand, but in the 'rest' of the manual it was
never mentioned (print and screen version alike)!

[NTG-context] german Umlaut 'ß'
Hi, My next problem seems to be the german umlaut 'ß'. Running the following example delivers only six of the seven wanted characters, while the 'ß' is left blank. I'm not sure whether this might be a problem with my editor WinEdt, but I'm sure you can show me the right direction. Hi, Doing my first steps with ConTeXt (after about ten years experience with LaTeX) I was running into the following problem. Running the enclosed example I got still the english version (as can be seen in the 'Contents'-title of the TOC). % language=de tex=pdfetex output=pdftex \language[de] \starttext \completecontent Test äöü \stoptext I'm using ConTeXt version 2003.9.25 (fmt 2004.8.31) - rather old, I know, but I don't believe that this might be the source of my problem since the manual is older ...
