The server was not switched on immediately after the work was done (if
anyone complained earlier, I would have pinged the sysadmin).

 Is it the heat?

There is a correlation, but only because the maintenance was planned
at the time of the highest heat (= when most people are on
holidays).

 But the garden works normally...

The wiki is hosted in Netherlands, while rsync, svn, git, meeting,
group site etc. are in Slovenia.

Hi Thomas and Florian,

I have just updated the ConTeXt and it worked fine.

Both commands gave no errors:

 rsync -ptv rsync://contextgarden.net/minimals/setup/first-setup.sh .
 ./first-setup.sh --modules=all

Just kidding (and I’m afraid I cannot say it in English): »vielleicht
haben die Server in Deutschland hitzefrei ;-)«.

Just in case it helps,

[NTG-context] rsync error

2009-05-26 Thread richard . stephens

Hello,

I've been happily using a fairly old version of Context for a while
(ConTeXt ver: 2008.08.05 18:47 MKII fmt: 2008.11.14 int:
english/english) but decided that I perhaps ought to try to update to
something more modern. I tried to get the minimals for Windows by
downloading context-setup-mswin.zip, unzipping it to a new directory and
running first-setup.bat from a command window.
On the output in the command window, I get a number of rsync error
messages, the first of which is:
rsync: failed to connect to contextgarden.net: Connection timed out
(116)
rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(122)
[receiver=3.0.2]
followed by lots of other warnings and errors and ultimately failure!

Any ideas?

Richard

[NTG-context] rsync ConTeXt minimals through a firewall

2008-07-14 Thread Piotr Kopszak
Hello,

I guess it's possible, but I wasn't able to rsync the ConTeXt minimals via ssh.
Any chance for tarballs available instead? Or maybe someone succeeded to rsync
from behind a firewall?

Best

I guess that you would need to have account on the garden (or maybe
I'm misinterpreting the purpose of rsync+ssh). I'm not the best person
to ask about server issues.

Any chance for tarballs available instead?

There is http://minimals.contextgarden.net/pragma/ (though I do not
100% guarantee that they are always up to date they should be OK -
rebuilding the files is triggered by some events, I would need to
check which ones exactly.)

Or maybe someone succeeded to rsync from behind a firewall?

I guess that you need TCP port 873, but if anyone has a suggestion how
to overcome this limit, we would gladly implement it on the server.
(Maybe setting rsync server on port 80 is doable if we use some other
domain?)

We have only mswin and windows folders inside minimals.
