[nysbirds-l] Barrow’s Goldeneye - Northport, Suffolk Co.

2022-12-21 Thread Taylor Sturm
The long-returning drake Barrow’s Goldeneye has returned to Crab Meadow Beach
(Northport, Suffolk) for at least the 5th winter.

It was among a small group of Commons just off the western end of the park,
where the beach turns private, but easily viewed from the park.

Seen with Andrew Leidig who beat me to it!

Happy Solstice and good birding. There’s no fee at this time of year.

Best,
Taylor Sturm

[nysbirds-l] Barrow’s Goldeneye - Northport, Suffolk Co.

2020-01-03 Thread Taylor Sturm
For at least the third winter in a row, a drake BARROW’S GOLDENEYE has returned
to Crab Meadow Beach in Northport, Suffolk Co.

The bird is off the point approximately 250 meters west of the main beach and
the La Casa Cafe building, associating with Common Goldeneye. The beach in that
area is private so please stay waterward of the wrack line if you try for it.

Good birding,
Taylor Sturm
