Allen, m.ob. on bird walk Bufflehead - 3 (pair SW Reservoir, male on Turtle Pond) Ruddy Duck - 78 (from SW Reservoir) Red-tailed Hawk - flyovers Ring-billed Gull - many Herring Gull - many Great Black-backed Gull - fewer than 10 Double-crested Cormorant - 2 Mourning Dove - more than 45 Great Horned Owl Red-bellied Woodpecker Yellow-bellied Sapsucker - 2 Downy Woodpecker- several Northern Flicker - heard Black-capped Chickadee - 6 Tufted Titmouse - several White-breasted Nuthatch - several Brown Creeper - 4 Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 4 Hermit Thrush - 2 American Robin Fox Sparrow - 3 Dark-eyed Junco - 4 Common Grackle - around 300 in two flocks House Finch American Goldfinch Bob DeCandido & I last saw the female Black-and-white Warbler in Shakespeare Garden before Sunday's walk (12/27/15) but did not find her today. Frank Rutella reported Northern Shovelers, Hooded Mergansers, a Pied-billed Grebe, and American Coots on the Reservoir today. Junko Suzuki (via twitter #birdcp) reported that the Wild Bird Fund released a Red-throated Loon on the Lake this afternoon. Tom Perlman reported (via Karen Fung via twitter #birdcp) that the female Wilson's Warbler continues at the East Blowdown Meadow at the North End today.
