I saw 1 SNOWY OWL & a light phased ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK at the Syracuse Airport
around 10:00 this morning. Both birds were in the north section of the
airport, seen from near the State Police barracks. The Snowy was a heavily
barred individual and was sitting on the ground, while the Roughie was hunting
along the back edge of the field.

The white GLAUCOUS GULL was at the Inner Harbor hanging out with a mess of
Great Black-backed Gulls, while the harbor was full of HOODED (87) and COMMON
(65) MERGANSERS, along with some MALLARDS, 3 GADWALL, and 2 CORMORANTS.

In Brewerton, the small collection of waterfowl on Oneida Lake and the Oneida
River included:

TUNDRA SWAN – 8
CANADA GOOSE – only 1
AMERICAN BLACK DUCK - 2
MALLARD – 7
REDHEAD – 5
COMMON GOLDENEYE – 38
COMMON MERGANSER - 156
