[nysbirds-l] Pelham Bay Park Bronx - 11/9
Hi All, Yesterday during a Parks Deptartment-led walk on the Pelham Landfill, highlights included flyovers of 5-6 each of American Pipit and Horned Larks, plus a flock of about 30 Snow Buntings. After the walk, I birded around the park for rest of the day. In the area northwest of the landfill (https://mapsengine.google.com/map/edit?mid=zQd_065mT4Pg.k4ZYg52ZjsWo), there is another (or maybe one from Turtle Cove came over?) immature Red-Headed Woodpecker. Over in Turtle Cove, at least one adult Red-headed continues. I did not search around to see if there were still others in the area. On Eastchester Bay, I had my FOS Horned Grebes, Hooded Merganser and Gadwall for the park and there was a Clapper Rail, which I inadvertently flushed while I was on the marsh peninsula south of City Is.
