Car Battery & Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays!
Karen, I often clip the charger to the alternator, the big bolt goes straight to the battery +. But it does not sound good for that battery. Don't try the starter till the battery has time to pick up some charge. Re: fuel cap - pressure relief or not?
HI Joe I can not answer your question with absolute certanity but I think the unvented cap is the one you need. I do know that when we still had emissions testing here. The cap was tested to make sure it held vacuum Those that did not failed. hope this helps John Kelsey Dayton Ohio TOA# 009 Joe Vahabzadeh wrote: All, Well, the 1989 Royale failed inspection for the fuel cap. One's part number 6817, the other is 6819. The latter is listed as a "pressure relief vented fuel cap" Which one am I supposed to have on this car? Could it be that I got the pressure relief one when I last purchased it, but wasn't supposed to? Or vice-versa? - Joe Vahabzadeh
OT--Car Battery & Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays!
I finally had a minute to get my Linc. set up on the charger, the Olds will be next once no rain. After climbing on the fiberglas front end, and hoping it didn't burst under my weight...I find that the stupid cables on the battery are totally covered with the clamps! I tried putting the charger on the extension of the bolts, the under hood light brightened right up, but the starter was making a horrible noise (not the usual clicking you might hear). The cells were mostly dry, just from sitting in garage, so I topped them off. So, does this mean I have to unclamp the posts and go for direct contact? Or is it battery replacement time? Thanks. Milton Sorry Milton I know I need to be more descriptive, it seems lately I have been at a loss for words. I could not remember electrode for anything last night. The web site http://www.4secondsflat.com/Spark_plug_reading.html was a great help. If you go to the bottom of page to the plug picture chart link # 14 is the closest and there rated the best. Re: Plug gap
My son re gapped them at .060 before he took me to work today. I really enjoyed the ride to work this morning. Of course this is the 67 Delta 88 Custom I'm talking about. .060 is right for HEI. On another note the plugs he took out, the tips have a rust color look to them, no build up of any kind all were basically clean except a reddish brown color. Anyone have an idea as to lean/rich or is it due to todays fuel. A reddish tint on the insulator is due to one of the modern fuel additives (I forget the name). drc
