Yeah IIRC you need to add them as a device, as for the zone and qemu
it's just a block device.

By died you mean the system hung? Did you have a concurrent shell

Pretty well. As I mentioned, pressing the power button caused a
'powerdown initiated on /dev/console' or similar (from memory) but
shutdown did not proceed. I did have a ssh session open but although I
could type into it, nothing happened after I pressed Enter. Nothing
that required disk activity would work.

Where was the original zpool coming from? You mention an upgrade
so I'm assuming it's from an earlier version of OmniOS.

Yes, OmniOS v11 r151013

Can you send the snapshot to a file? It might be useful to debug the
 snapshot.

Do you mean a snapshot to the filesystem on which it hung? It's 69.5
GiB. In any case, as I mentioned, I could copy it once I was back on
r151013, so I don't think there's anything unreadable there. Maybe
some unsupported feature ?

Hello Nan!

I have installed the omniOS on vagrant. For some reasons, I can't
configure OS to visit the internet, so let's why I want to get some
 out-of-box *.pkgs like Solaris.

You need an internet connection to retrieve software from any publisher.
If your Vagrant client cannot connect to the internet, you have to find
another system that can. There, you can copy the package repository for
the publisher you want, and then copy the repository via tar file or
rsync to your client.

As you can see, that is a bit tedious and complicated. It would be much
better if you can fix your client's internet connection. Then, you can
install the software you want automatically.

[OmniOS-discuss] COMSTAR vid and pid

2015-04-27 Thread Kyle Bruene
Hello everyone!

We have been using OmniOS to provide FC storage to our Windows 2012 Servers. On
OmniOS versions previous to r151014, ie r151006, we were able to supply
create-lu with a custom vid and everything worked fine, including MPIO. Now,
on r151014, when we supply a custom vid, Windows will not add the multipath.
Any suggestions?

Thanks,

What is a vid. Can you give command/return examples? Where are you getting
stuck on the multipath, in the MPIOCPL, or the multipath properties?
