Re: [openthinclient-user] Unable to use Fujitsu Siemens Futro A220 with OpenThinClient

May be DHCP Options? Or PXE support at Futro side, perhaps?

OpenThinClient

Hi,

I want to migrate my current thin client classrooms from citrix to OTC but I've
dozen of Fujitsu Siemens Futro A220 thin clients that don't work with OTC.

At boot time Futros don't see OTC server so they don't start, no message on
OTC server log.

I've other Compaq PCs that work fine so I suppose there is an incompatibility
with Futro.

Any idea?

TIA

I need to create a new application package but I have only the .rpm and/or .deb
version.

Just for completeness the software I need to package is the virtual bridges
http://vbridges.com/ client.

I'm very newbie to .rpm/deb files so I don't understand how to proceed.

I've read OTC doc at
http://openthinclient.org/Create+a+new+Application+Package#Unpacking
but it seems focused only to tarred files.

May you give me an hint?

2014-04-14 Thread Antonio Pérez Ruth
Sorry, Firefox bzipped.

But for deb files, have you read this?, (extract from
http://openthinclient.org/Create+a+new+Application+Package)

Handling multiple install files (Debian-based distros)

[...]

This generates a list of all the .deb files in the directory and then extracts
them one by one.
It will create the directories for our package in the same form as we would
have got from binary in the tar file.

The default screensaver from Debian is the problem.

Please install the package desktop with the package-management.
Add an application called desktop, and set the screen-saver to explicit

Join this application with all thinclients and reboot them.
Now the password should be disabled.

We know the problem and we'll fix it with the next update.
Then the default (without any configuration) would be: no password

Re: [openthinclient-user] password

2014-04-14 Thread Stecher, Alexander
You have to discard the tcos-branding.
But before that, you have to update the base-package.
This means:
- update the base package
- delete the tcos-branding
- install the desktop application

Important:
If you want to update the package openthinclient-manager, then update it
alone, not together with other packages.

Another way is:
- make a LDIF-export.
- deinstall the openthinclient-software
- download the current version
- install it new
- LDIF import.

2014-04-14 Thread Daniel Chesebro
I am working with openthinclient-2.0-consus.
I modified my environment after installation of the product and then
disconnected the realm, and restarted the server.

The device I am trying to PXE boot will not come up. It comes up to the DHCP
assignment and then states that the bootfile can't be located.

After disconnecting from the realm and reconnecting to it, I can no longer edit
any options. Am I logging in, incorrectly?
Username: uid=admin, ou=System
