I'm wondering if Openthinclient server cannot be installed on Server 2008 R2.
As this is the only difference since the last implementation which worked?

try to find out the reason, why the RDP client won't start:
Please open a xterm (ctrl+alt+shift+x) and copy+paste the starter-command from
the desktop-icon
(rightclick--properties--starter) into it.

starting, but then automatically closes? I've tried changing the
setting to auto start and connect to a server but that also auto

Hi Kevin, I had a similar issue, what client are you using freerdp or rdesktop? most probably it is related to the settings of the application. if you are connecting to a windows machine are you sure remote control is enabled and if it is a win 7 machine it is better if you select the less secure method of communication.
