Yes Robert, in general terms we have 7100/80 7600/200 possibly a second 7600 8100/110 9600/200MP Umax 600S scanner With the exception of the 9600 which refuses to complete the start-up sequence. all gear is operational apart from needing new PRAM batteries. Hi, I have just been given a Liteonit CD-RW drive out of a PC (E-IDE). I would like to utilise it in my beige G3. However, neither the accompanying literature nor the Liteonit internet site mention any combatability to the Mac OS.(I am using OS 9.1) Rather, only Windows systems are mentioned. I do take your point that when scanning an email it would be nice to get to the gist of the message, but I don't feel any of us have the right to enforce this. Your email above was informative until the point where you started name calling - no problems in getting a point across, but would be nice to not have included: we might all use Mac's but I think some of use would be better off on PC's!! You may have said this in jest (as your winking smileys suggest), but if you want people to take your post seriously and be a source of information or even education, then get serious yourself in the way you present the information. The venerable 7600 was called upon to supply data to the just as venerable Epson Stylus 600 on this hot day. As the Epson's ink carriage passed back and forth across the paper, the speed of the fan motor(?) in the 7600 rose and fell in unison. Does this mean that the 7600's power supply is about to kark it? Help. Hi all, Firstly, many thanks to those who have joined in the discussion. Although,personally, I happily operate with Stone Age tools (beige G3, etc). I am surprised at the interest generated by my friend's iMac problem. It does serve as a warning to us all. Lightning can, and does, cause damage to computers. James Allen's experiment may even suggest that almost anything will work in a pinch. Finally, my friend's insurance company is re-examining his claim which, at the very least, sounds promising.
