What kind of web part is it? You can modify the web.config file for the web app to get more info out of it by following this post: http://vspug.com/michael/2007/06/28/sharepoint-under-the-hood-see-real-e rror-description-and-callstack-stack-trace/
This will tell you a bit more, however I wouldn't do it on a production box. Can you reproduce the issue in a test environment?
