Re: Audacity anyone?

2007-02-16 Thread Brian Olesen
hi Peace,
Well it's almost good enough. :-)

I mean the beta 1.3 has improved accessibility, and if you enter the
preferences and work a little with the keyboard short cuts you can make it
work quite well, for the big zero it costs.

Best regards
Brian

Wow, that's one heck of a bug list there! And to think I just install
5.32!

What amazes me is how there are bugs that introduce themselves that
were not in previous versions. Or maybe they were but weren't noticed
or nobody had the time to actually fix them until now.

2007-02-16 Thread Chris Skarstad
Hi. You guys are missing it, it's very easy to find.
Ok, here's what you do. go back into the general preferences area of
the tree view.

Now make sure you're focused on the close button. Now, press your
tab key 8 times. there's your checkbox, check for new versions of
Winamp at startup.
Personally, folks, since there are so many bug fixes in this release,
i would honestly go for it. It's extremely stable, and I did a
broadcast with it last night and noticed absolutely no delays with
it. This new 5.33 is rock solid!
and if you make any use of the media library at all, this upgrade is a must.
Lots of bug fixes.

Actually I don't use it for that purpose so I'm not certain. I'm using it to
record audio from my USB turntable to the PC. I'm also doing some simple
editing with it, though I use DC6 or GoldWave for more complex tasks. My
experience only allows me to say that it is a good free editor and is
accessible, at least when it comes to the aspects of the program that I use.
I believe you can add keyboard shortcuts to help make the program more
accessible. Maybe someone can advise as to how that is done?

 Hello Larry!

Do you need to change any options to audacity so it works better for blind
 users?
I haven't figured out how to use the multi track system. Are there any
 work
arounds or strategies for Audacity for new users?

 Thanks in advance.

I would say that it's the best free editor out there. I have several paid
for programs on board, but I still use audacity quite often.

Just curious: what do you all think of the Audacity Sound Editor? I'm
working with some blind kids who don't have the money for more expensive
sound editors and just want your all's sage opinion!

 Peace,
 Kathy

wants to use adobe audition with Window Eyes, but it doesn't work. Does
anybody have any suggestions on how to make it work with Window Eyes?

Please tell me how to join the email list, Winampfortheblind. I used
to be a member of this list, but when the list was moved I got lost
in the shuffle. I love using Winamp and I've found that the list is
very helpful. I will grately appreciate it if you can send along
this vital information.

problems with winamp

2007-02-16 Thread Joe
When I try playing streaming audio with winamp it cuts out for about a second
every 13 seconds. I don't think its my connection speed as I have dsl and get a
speed of about three meg. I installed the newest winamp and still had the
problem so I went back to 5.24 since it seems to read better with Jaws 7. Does
anyone else out there have this problem and can you help please?
Thanks, Joe.
