Re: connecting my portable stereo to my computer usingtheauxiliaryjacks?

2008-01-08 Thread Doc
The problem you wil run into running a line from your headphone jack is
overdriving
your sound card causing distortion. the other problem that usually arises is
that
you can sometimes get hum from the headphone jack.

Auxillery jacks are input only. they are there in case you wish to run
 something
like a second tape deck or cd player through the system. You could for
 instance run
a line from your speaker out on your computer to the auxillery and hav the
 audio from
the computer go through the stereo.

they aren't too hi as this could damage your equipment.

Hey all. I have a splitter with four input jacks with separate volume
controls, I also have a laptop and two mono to mono patch cords. I am
trying to rig it up so that one pair of headphones can hear both the
laptop and the desktop, and the other set can only hear the desktop.
I'm in a teaching environment, and the reason I ask is because I don't
want my student to hear the notes I take, which even with the patch
cords, is the case. Can someone tell me how to do this if it can be
done? The splitter is a listening post from APH. Thanks a lot.

Re: skype payment.

2008-01-08 Thread Robert Carter
Hi,

As I understand it, Skype is sselling something called Skype Pro
for $36 a year. This covers the cost of Skype out for the year and
there is no additional charge for making long distance calls in the
U.S. and Canada. Skype Pro also includes the Skype Answering machine
and some other features. It adds an additional $12 of calling credit
to your account. This can be used for international calls. If you
bought Skype Pro, you should not have to pay anything else unless you
make international calls and exceed your free $12 credit.

unuseable with jaws. Stick with, uh, bear share lite 5.2, I think, and
you'll be fine. If you don't have a version of jaws below 7.1, I recommend
you get it. FOr some odd reason, versions higher than that don't like the

There are a few ways. I did cover it in a set of tutorials but you might want
to joint he skype English list so as not to clutter

Re: connecting my portable stereo to my computer usingtheauxiliaryjacks?

2008-01-08 Thread DJ DOCTOR P
Hello Kulvinder,
That's what I told Randy earlier this morning.
If those jacks are line out, then you can hook it up to your computer's
sound card without any problem.
But if they happen to be line in, then the only option is using the
headphone jack.
But however, that won't work to well for you.
You will get amplifier noise.
It will distort especially if the volume is turned up way to high.
  John.

Yeh, sorry about that, what you need to do is connect your hifi with
line-out sockets if you have them on the back of the hifi, that is if you
want to have the audio from the hifi to go to the computer.

Auxillery jacks are input only. they are there in case you wish to run
 something
like a second tape deck or cd player through the system. You could for
 instance run
a line from your speaker out on your computer to the auxillery and hav the
 audio from
the computer go through the stereo.

under, I think tools, CuePoints, you are offered an option to split the

YOu can take the track titles and rename then in CDEX and submit it to the
CDDB. This is what I do and it works pretty well.

He may have RCA speaker outs which he could also use very carefully.

 Regards.

Auxillery jacks are input only. they are there in case you wish to run
 something
like a second tape deck or cd player through the system. You could for
 instance run
a line from your speaker out on your computer to the auxillery and hav the
 audio from
the computer go through the stereo.

If it comes up in winamp why not move over to the playlist editor and press alt
control g and then copy the track list.

Make sure there is a cue point at the very beginning of the file. Then
under, I think tools, CuePoints, you are offered an option to split the
file. Follow the prompts there and you should be ok.

Re: moving and splitting

2008-01-08 Thread Vinny Samarco
Martin,
copy the file to the My music folder, th
en, the next time you open up goldwave, type control-o and type the name of
the file which you copied to my music. It may take a few tries for goldwave
to find that file, but after it does and you have successfully imported that
file to goldwave, type alt-e and O for editing q-points. After hitting
enter on editing q points, look at all the q points and their ttimes, to
make sure you didn't miss any. Then tab till you find the splitting files
option.
Make sure, as was already said, that you have placed a q point at the
absolute beginning of the file.
Let me know if you understand this.
